Hi Marita, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Freestyle Branding and Marketing was started purely from the heart. I wanted to help those whom needed business start up services. System vs Product. So many business owners create or sell a product but the key to success is creating a system that easy for the consumers to obtain! I decided to create a system. A system that made it not so complicated to begin the adventure of starting a business. We know the process and paperwork but do we know how to brand? That’s how I came up with the slogan for freestyle branding and marketing, “your brand, your life, we market.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I knew then I had to create a system once people began asking do I provide other services? So I began making flyers, business cards, digital media, which led to creating websites then printing. Next thing you know I was marketing and branding many businesses nationwide. When starting a business you face so many challenges. My hardest challenge was organization. I literally had to learn organizational skills. That’s when I began developing marketing and branding packages. The average consumer wants the easiest process. They don’t want yo have to search everywhere for different products and services, they want everything done in one place by someone whom knows and understands their plan. No matter how complicated the customers needs are it’s important to listen. People like to be heard, not over talked or over charged. The hardest challenge for me was pricing packages for business owners that fit their budgets. I believe branding is the easiest part, it’s the market most people don’t understand or know you have to have a big budget for! One of the biggest challenges I still have today is keeping up with the world on new techniques and technology to help market the consumers business! Their are literally new sites and programs coming out everyday on the world and you best believe Freestyle branding and marketing is learning every single avenue to provide the best services to our customers. From digital designs to print and film, Your Life , Your Brand , We Market”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Off too I love Andretti Go cart racing! I’m not much of a drinker unless it’s while I’m eating. My favorite place to eat by far is in Arlington. I believe it’s called seven kitchen and cocktails. Oh my I’m such and introvert, but, the Dallas independent music scene is so amazing. I enjoy attending many events featuring indie artists. Dallas definitely has the best.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh my , there are so many to name. At this point, my clients are my biggest supporters! I started off homeless and I need of making money to get on my feet! I was literally under a bridge and a man gave me a computer as I was sitting across from a hotel. I immediately began going inside that hotel everyday , sitting on that labtop creating ways to make money. I mean I literally began selling logos for twenty bucks on Facebook Marketplace! Once I gathered up enough money to purchase adobe photoshop, I realized there were other adobe programs I could learn. If you aren’t willing to learn new thing or skills in Life you could never be successful. I trusted the not only the process but myself as well! I’d never though being a graphic designer would make so much money! My clients are whom really saved me! At that time I had no idea Freestyle branding and marketing would take of so quickly.
