We had the good fortune of connecting with Saul Castillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Saul, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I’d have to say the most important factors behind my success are patience, perseverance, and confidence, Patience the time for the time the work takes, perseverance for how hard the work can get, and confidence that the work will take you further and further as long as you keep the first two factors strong.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well, my own creativity is a wild card, to be honest. I’ve been a guitar player from a young age and since living and as a child had a fancy for anything that was emotionally striking to the audience. whether it was music or film I craved the intensity of being on stage or even people enjoying your visual creation. My parents would also introduce a huge part of my audio and visual influence, Disney. As a child, those movies would captivate and grab you emotionally leaving an imprint that would last up to this day as an adult influencing every song and video I’ve ever written and done.
Music came in first growing immediately after I came back to El Paso, TX in 6th grade when I was starting to get influenced by Rock music. I was in the School band during 7th and 8th grade and learned a bit of theory and began a lust for drumming as well.

Rock bands came naturally after that, starting with my first one “My Last Judgment” a 4 piece Thrash/Metal ensemble at the age of 17-18. Followed by a different monster and a huge change of pace in the name of “Emerson Grey” a 5 piece Metalcore project which took off so well and opened up for acts like “Bring Me the Horizon” and “Asking Alexandria”. Even to be chosen to play former “Warped Tour”.

Fast forward to 2014 and now we meet “Memories in Broken Glass” where we took another journey towards the unknown. This time I put down the guitar and took the role of Frontman. Opening for national and international acts we took the stage and brought a new flavor to what I could never imagine. That Journey came to a halt close to late 2019.

Nevertheless, the horizon is clear and now there are 7 separate EPs coming up in the future, all of them which will have 3 songs each with its single’s music video tied in with each EP to complete a full storyline with a very nice final 20 Minute Rock opera.

A lot of my influence comes from Disney and Musicals. What I think sets me apart from everyone is that I dream and see Epic, my creativity knows no bounds, no judgment. It just lives and it breathes greatness.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend was visiting after a long trip, I would invite them to my home, have a drink, cook them dinner and probably end up the night with a good jam session to get inspired and create. I’m not really a “go out to the town” person. I like to stay in.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shout-out to everyone who’s been on this journey so far since my early childhood including my parents and brother but a huge shoutout to Danny River, and Eric Meyer for the opportunities we’ve built together!
