Meet Mary Duplantier | Owner | Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Duplantier and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mary, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I found my love for self care when I first purchased artisan soaps about 3.5 years ago. I couldn’t get over how beautiful they were and how much better my skin felt after using them. Once I made my first batch of soap in August of 2020, I only fell deeper in love with this art form and wanted to give others the opportunity to experience the luxurious self care experience artisan soaps offer. Knowing that I wanted to offer more than bath and body products, I explored candle making which is another creative outlet that is completely different from soap making. After a rigorous testing and research process, I was able to curate the collection of upscale fragrances Eve Luxe Co. now offers to help others enjoy their self care routine.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
My main goal in creating Eve Luxe Co. was to offer handcrafted luxurious self care products that make you feel good and are also good for you. We offer a full range of self care products to ensure that you are able to enjoy self care just how you like it. Our artisan soaps are an amazing way to add something new to your shower or bath with unique and beautiful soap that is sourced from high quality and cruelty free ingredients, smells great, and is good for your skin. We also offer bubble butters (a foaming sugar scrub that once you try, you’ll love) and rich whipped body butters to complete your skincare routine. Our candles are made with coconut soy wax and clean, phthalate free fragrances to create a more natural and clean burning candle for your home. Meanwhile, if you prefer a flameless alternative to home fragrance, we have you covered with our 100% soy wax melts.
Eve Luxe Co. was established in November of 2020, and it has been a pleasure to go on this journey of growing my small business thus far. The hardest things I have had to learn are finding practical marketing tools to reach my target audience and patience. In the early months of Eve Luxe Co., I would get frustrated that sales were slow. I then began to attend local markets and pop up events to reach more customers locally which has helped my growth tremendously. These events have allowed me to foster relationships with customers and fellow business owners that have become loyal supporters of my brand. I’m extremely appreciative of the tough times I have endured and of the ones to come because they only make me find new ways to reach my business goals.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a complete foodie and often spend most of time with my friends and family trying new restaurants or old favorites. A few of my favorite places to eat in DFW are Maple Leaf Diner for a fantastic breakfast or brunch, Dos Arroyos Comida Casera for classic Mexican dishes, Anthony’s Eatalian for exceptional Italian food, Cretia’s Eatery and Bake Shoppe for phenomenal desserts (I’m quite obsessed with their cupcakes and cookies), and Pangea for upscale American style dishes with a twist.
If you’re looking for a few good cocktails, I highly recommend checking out Union Bear or Suburban Yacht Club at the Boardwalk at Granite Park in Plano, TX. Plus, they host farmers + artisan markets on Sunday, where you just might catch Eve Luxe Co.!
Although I spend the majority of my free time growing my small business, I do enjoy having a day of fun, too! Some of my favorites include the Dallas Museum of Art, shopping local at markets and pop ups (a few of my favorites are Dallas Millennial Market and Boho Market), shopping at the Galleria, and grabbing a bite to eat while enjoying the amazing music at The Free Man Cajun Cafe and Lounge.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and friends have been so influential in the success of Eve Luxe Co. They were the first people who ever tested my products and spoke so many words of encouragement when I initially told them my business idea. Their endless support has kept me driven to achieve more, and I’m forever grateful for each and every one of them. I am extremely thankful to Third and Sage, a local Denton boutique, as our first stockist for their continual support. I would also like to thank a few local market and pop up organizers – Saria Hawkins-Banda of Manifest Your Purpose, Rosa Salas of Dallas Millenial Market, and Briana August of Hair & Glam DFW – who have allowed me to share my brand with my local community to continue to spread my mission of indulging in the simple luxuries of everyday life with luxurious self care.
