We had the good fortune of connecting with Rikki Rincon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rikki, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking has been part of my outlook for many years in all areas of work, .No risk, no reward. Often times through some of the risks that I have taken I have had to take a pause and reexamine my strategy but that is the wonderful aspect to taking calculated risks, we learn on many levels how to improve our approach to our area of work.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am head of brand partnerships for The Flo Lab, a New York based agency with a mobilized team in Miami. We are here to impact lives. Our celebrity roster includes Jennifer Lopez, Maluma, Karol G, Ozuna, Mau & Ricky, CNCO, Carlos Vives, Nicky Jam, Anuel, Casper Smart, Will Valderama, Leli Hernandez, Kike y Dany (Cuban Twins) and more! This wonderful opportunity has impacted not just my position nationally but globally. The Flo Lab is the “go to” for the Latinx and general market as we added the massive line of Dick Clark Productions national television programs including the following to sell brand partnerships for, American Music Awards, The YouTube Streamy Awards, New Year’s Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest, American Country Music Awards and The American Billboard Awards as we already currently have The Latin Grammys as our client as well.
From 2018 to the present, I am managing partner of a plant based, luxury shampoo brand, BellaGeneration Hair System. A Dallas based line that has created a grassroots buzz in the hair industry. This brand was founded by Miriam Marsh Sifuentes, a 3 time cancer survivor whose mission is to educate the world on a truly nontoxic, vegan alternative for their haircare. We are live online and are currently pitching Series A investment to take our brand further. We have experience challenges during covid and having to pivot and reset our strategies as the world pretty much stopped for a year to two years affecting our momentum but we continue to push and great news is on the horizon as our brand has been invited by major online merchants,
Since 2000 I have been the Founder/Digital Strategist for Creative Juice Online. We have worked with large brands for digital amplification.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well Dallas has grown in major ways, depending on their preferences I would highly recommend taking in a early morning breakfast at La Duni Latin Kitchen on McKinney Ave in the Henderson/Knox area. It’s here were you are given options on a large array of special coffees from South America and other areas of Latin America along with an eclectic menu with selections not found anywhere else in the Dallas area. I would then have them enjoy 60 Vines at the Crescent Court where the menu offers the best in flatbread, cheese boards and delicious menu. While in Dallas one must take in Miriam’s Latin Cuisine in the Park District in Downtown where Dominican born owner has created a super delicious offering of Latin dishes such as my favorite, the Salmon tacos and finished off with their coconut fused Crème brûlée.
Through their visit they need to visit the AT&T Discovery District, Klyde Warren Park and drive over to Bishop Arts District to dine at El Paraiso and grab a Cuban ice cream at Azucar! Speaking of Cuban offerings, we are home to the best Cuban restaurant, Caribbean Cuba in the Farmers Branch/Carrollton area.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Over the course of my lifetime I have had an immense amount of time invested in national conferences, one on one consultations with professional sector as I have always been very hungry to learn, not just to join the ranks but to progressively move ahead. From very early on in the 90’s I was investing what money and resources I had to travel to the New Music Seminar in New York City where the Who’s Who of the music/entertainment industry assembled with daily panel sessions, live showcases in the hottest venues from the Palladium all the way to Latin Quarters, Union Square to the Tunnel, I lived the New York experience at it’s very best. During this time I made major connections with record labels, media and more as I invested so much time asking questions, so being hungry for knowledge was everything to me and today remains my driving force. From there I began investing time in the Winter Music Conference in Miami for many years, promoting and marketing my talent roster, making connects and so much more.
As time moved on towards the early to mid 2000’s I eagerly learned about Hispanicize, a Miami based conference that launched in 2010 that took things to a whole new level for the Latin space of digital, brands, blog space, influencers to making major connections to national and global brands. I am very thankful for all the massive amount of leaders I met and whom have impacted my career on many levels. The list would be way too long to name here but I am very thankful.
