We had the good fortune of connecting with Karl Waigand and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karl, what matters most to you?
Customer service , honesty, good quality merchandise. Because they are all factors to doing good bussiness.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I have always worked in customer service positions, including sales and hospitality. I have also held artistic roles in the beauty industry cutting and styling hair for over 12 years. I’ve always had a passion for interior design, taking old furniture and making it new. I’ve created many personal upholstery designs that have wowed buys. I’m continuing to live my dream as a Mid-Century business owner.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of the best places I’ve been would include some bigger names such as Heim Barbecue, Ashim’s sushi downtown Fortworth, Velvet Taco, and Snooze eatery. The spots that are hidden Gems are Boulevard Brew in River oaks, and a little building with drive through service, Tapatio’s off of Lancaster blvd. Since we are in to buying I would have to take them to Ties to the Past an antique mall voted #1 in Fortworth off of Camp Bowie to meet our good friends Greg and Cary and get some great finds and deals.
I’d also have to take them to Jame’s Majors Estates sales, there is one every weekend all across the DFW area with Jame’s stylish and outgoing personality making his company one of the best estate sale companies in Texas.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
To my life partner Austin Burkholder who has given me encouragement and support in this new adventure. He works side by side with me . He is the best
