We had the good fortune of connecting with Vel Renier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vel, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
The single most important decision I made was to “just do it”. Get it done. If you don’t start something then you’ll never know if you can be successful. I don’t like “what if’s” or being in limbo. So I bided my time, took a ton of classes and now I can truly say I’m comfortable in my business. I won’t lie it did take me a few years to even get started, but that’s because I’m a perfectionist and I kept wanting to learn until I was comfortable. Once I got comfortable, I pulled the trigger and started my business. If you keep waiting, you’ll never see the starting line. So at least get to the starting point and just do it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is for Queens, created by a Queen. My aim is to create an external shift that will bring you into alignment with your highest potential through custom made wigs. My goal is for you to feel Entitled to What you Want… Not just What you Need.
We as women deserve the world and have lost control over even our most basic wants.
As a company we want women to take their born given rights back. And that starts with having confidence.

Getting dressed knowing that your hair is already done, by throwing on your glue less custom wig takes a lot of stress out of your daily routine.
Or trying that new hairstyle you’ve always wanted to try but are too afraid to.
Having one less worry or seeing yourself in a new color or hairstyle, can make all the difference in your confidence.

We want you confident, secure, and feeling beautiful about your appearance.
For me that starts with my hair, then my nails & clothes.

What sets us apart is an unclockable hairline. We make wigs that are custom to your specific head measurements, ranging from inches 20”-24”. Plus we don’t “drop” wigs once a month, you can get a wig at anytime, all throughout the year. And because our wigs are glue less, you don’t have to go get your wig installed by a professional. You can put the wig on yourself, very beginner friendly.
We only create our units with Raw hair (sourced from a single donor in India & Cambodia). So because it’s real hair, it will last you a lifetime.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I’m a home body so I don’t get out much. So there would be a lot of watching anime, movie nights, or playing phase 10, spades, dominoes, or uno. I have a fur baby so the dog park would be on the itinerary. In the event we did go out I would want to start at Veracruz restaurant in cedar hill, they have delicious & dangerous margaritas, my limit is only 2. Then head to Stirr on Main Street in Dallas, eat everything on the menu. Especially the Hot Maple Chicken is to die for. Then head home because I’m a old soul and don’t like to be out too late.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly I’m going to shoutout to myself. Yes my family and friends are supportive. But I started this journey many years ago because I was always getting my hair done and no one could get my skin color down to match my lace. So I was always helmet head and very disappointed. I also have a very large passion for hair. I love buying it, coloring it and having a different hairstyle every few months. So I started this business so I could do my own hair as well as my family members hair. Without the disappointment in my hair appointments, I might not have started my business.
