We had the good fortune of connecting with Breanna Alsouissi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Breanna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Before I launched Bre Creative, I always freelanced while working as a graphic designer for different agencies. When I got laid off in 2018, I knew I didn’t want to return to a large company, so I found a job with a small business. Unfortunately, that work environment evolved into a toxic one, so I resigned. I was fortunate to be in a financial situation where I could leave without a backup. While searching for a new full-time role, I realized how much I really love working with businesses that might have smaller budgets but still have big marketing goals. I chose to launch my own small business to help these kinds of clients grow their brands. Turning my side hustle into a full-time gig has been nothing short of a dream.

What should our readers know about your business?

We are a marketing agency specializing in brand design and strategy, website design and custom builds, email and text marketing services, and custom branded GIFs. I also create educational courses specifically for clients that can’t fully invest in custom work. Most of our clients are colorful, literally — they love color and are not afraid to have their branding pop.

We also offer a very personal experience. I consider myself an extension of every client’s team, guiding them from start to finish and doing my best to work within their budget. This process doesn’t have to be intimidating or scary. Anytime a client has questions, changes, or ideas on how things should work, we listen and implement those in a way that makes sense for them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Granbury, so I’d start with visiting the town square and dinner at Christina’s. If the weather is nice, we’d enjoy a day on the lake as a reprieve from the heat. Next, I’d head to Fort Worth for an overnight getaway at The Stockyards Hotel or The Drover. My perfect itinerary there includes Wishbone & Flynt for drinks and apps (I love a good speakeasy), dinner at Rodeo Goat or Cane Rosso, and after-dinner drinks at Thompson’s. We’d end the night at the Stockyards for dancing and bar hopping (the basement bar is a can’t-miss).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

So many people! Firstly, my husband Shaun. He was supportive and understanding when I began trying to figure out how to make this work. He’s never once questioned that decision. I have a few biz besties that have been that way, too. A fellow designer, Erin Fischer, encouraged me to up my social media game. She also graciously sent work my way. Carley Marsteller of Stellar Creations, one of my first clients, was wonderful in letting me discover how far we can push my skillset. She is the sole reason I learned to create custom GIFs!
