We were fortunate to catch up with some brilliant artists, creatives and entrepreneurs from throughout the Houston area and they share the wisdom with us below.

This affirmation—“IN ORDER FOR YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES TO CHANGE, YOU MUST FIRST CHANGE”—speaks directly to how I relate to growth and transformation in every area of my life:

I hold the power to act: I don’t wait for circumstances to shift around me; I choose to move first. Read More>>

A quote that means a lot to me is, “Don’t compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 20.” To me this means that everyone’s journey is different. Someone who you may be comparing yourself to may be years into their craft and already perfected it. This can destroy your motivation and hinder your confidence. When you compare your beginning to someone else’s ending, you’re not seeing the full story. You’re seeing the edited version. Their success looks effortless to you but what you’re not seeing is the failing, doubting, and struggles all while growing. Every master was once a beginner. Read More>>

I truly believe our greatest challenges can lead us to our greatest calling. About 20 years ago, when my oldest daughter entered the tween years, I found myself completely overwhelmed. I was struggling to connect with her and didn’t know where to turn for help. It was a place I never imagined I’d be, and I realized I needed more support than I thought. After taking my daughter to therapy, I quickly realized that it was actually me who needed help. I got into therapy, and the therapist invited me to join a moms’ group. That group not only changed my life but also improved my relationships and how I parented. Read More>>

The idea came, to me for my love of Entertainment. I was inspired by different stars I saw on tv. It’s always been a dream of mine. Every time I feel like giving up, something unexpected happens—a call, a text, or even a random message on social media reminding me of the impact I’ve had on someone’s life. These small, quiet affirmations are what keep me going.
It’s so easy to underestimate the difference we make, especially in our own little corner of the world. That’s why it matters so much to pause, even briefly, to express appreciation. Let people know how they’ve influenced you. A few kind words can be the very thing that helps someone keep moving forward. Read More>>

Honestly, I’m inspired by the in-between moments, the ones that don’t make the highlight reel. The unfinished coffee, the early mornings, the deep breath before a toddler meltdown. Those micro-moments is where real life happens.
I started creating content not because I had it all figured out, but because I didn’t. And I knew other moms were out there feeling overwhelmed, unseen, or stretched thin by the pressure to do it all perfectly. I wanted to build a space that helped others feel understood and seen. Read More>>

I want my legacy to be that I was a woman who showed up boldly, authentically, and unapologetically—especially in spaces where silence and shame tried to take center stage. I want people to remember that I was a voice for women navigating menopause, not just as a biological transition, but as a life shift that deserves awareness, compassion, and conversation—especially in the workplace. Time management, organization, and prospective planning have helped me succeed. I started looking into content creation with food videos, vlogs, and yelp reviews early in college and since then have graduated. I managed a full class schedule, several extracurriculars, and leadership roles while writing Yelp reviews and making reels both with content related to food and daily vlogs. Google Calendar and Notion have been my go-to for planning and scheduling time to do everything. Read More>>

I live in a sketchbook, always working on at least 3 different sizes at once, obsessively researching, and piece together my thoughts onto paper.i love making my work. Every work is a record of t a thought a kind of visual footprint I’ve left behind. What I make to some may just be another cowboy or whatever but, the images say I was here, I read about this, I felt this, and that’s what drives me makes me truly happy. Making something honest. The belief that we should focus on fixing our weaknesses is one piece of conventional advice I strongly disagree with.
We’re often taught to be well-rounded, to improve in the areas where we fall short. But the research tells a different story. People who use their strengths every day are more engaged, more productive, and experience a higher quality of life. These outcomes show up not only at the individual level, but across teams and organizations too. Read More>>

At the beginning of my career I was in survival mode because I was going through some rough times in my life. The only things that was going through my mind at the time was…I have to make sure my kids are good and that they don’t feel the shift that was happening for us at the time. I have to show my “babies” how to “boss up” from a situation like this if they were ever in this type of situation. Most importantly…ain’t nobody ever going to keep me from being great in life no matter what life throws at me. Read More>>

This is exactly what I help busy people with and what we do in our community. Finding balance to avoid burnout. Our society has conditioned us to believe we need to constantly push for greater results, sacrificing our health and personal lives in the process. It’s insane when you think about it.
This is where I found myself many years ago when I worked in Accounting and Finance for 17 years. Now I help people avoid the same trap of the modern day.
