We had the good fortune of connecting with Shelby Stephens and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shelby, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When my husband, Caleb and I, were getting married I instantly became obsessed with weddings. During the time of our wedding, my mother bought a wedding dress boutique so I would work there on the weekends. Caleb comes from a background of construction work and I brought up the idea of building our own wedding venue. After months of research and looking for the right piece of land, we found 63 acres right outside of our town, New Boston. It was the perfect piece of property and meant to be transformed into something special.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Four Fifteen Estates is a mixture between traditional with our white chapel and modern with our black barndominum reception area. We started building in the middle of covid which was very risky, but we knew eventually covid would be over and couples would be searching for a venue while covid brides were also trying to finally to get their wedding, The timing could not have been more perfect!
We have been open now for 2 years, as of April 15th. Our wedding anniversary is April 15th and the address to the venue is 415 County Road 2101. So, it was a no brainer when deciding the name of the venue!
We’ve had over 100 weddings so far and are booked for the remainder of the year, It is so crazy to me how successful this business adventure has been for my husband and I. Meeting new people every week and creating lifetime friendships was not something I considered when building the venue, but it has been the biggest blessing.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Texarkana has so much to offer and is continuing to grow! Pecan Point, Benchmark, Verona, and Pop’s Place are a few of the restaurants we love to visit. Downtown Texarkana has so much history and the coolest part is the stateline where you can stand in the state of Texas and Arkansas at the same time.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t have anything without my husband, Caleb. I tell him my dream and he makes it happen. I also want to give credit to my family who have supported me emotionally during the entire process.
