We had the good fortune of connecting with Nate Williamson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nate, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my own business about three years ago working remotely as a marketing and social media consultant. My dream had always been to create something. That people would remember, something to leave an imprint. I figured “Hey, you’re doing this for other people and garnering big numbers— why not start building something for yourself?”

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
All of my art comes from the OG source— nature and the amazing world we live in. Taking photos and videos is a passion I’ve had since I was young enough to take incredibly-regrettable MySpace selfies. Add to that a love of language and a journalism degree, and you’ve got a Blog and a start.

Part of my goal as I continue to grow is to encourage people to get out and experience the world around them, all while leaving it “Better Than You Found It,” which also goes for the people and communities around them.

For me, I just want people to know that there isn’t enough kindness in the world, and only through purposeful action can we change that! I’ve overcome a lot of depression and anxiety through my years. It’s driven me to this philosophy of kindness. No one’s perfect, but we can try.

I started my career in sports journalism as a broadcaster for minor league hockey; and have since transitioned to marketing for businesses/projects I can believe in. I always want to continue that.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh man that’s tough. The DFW is so full of amazing things. I think for the first day we’d head to the Fort Worth Botanical Garden and then to the Stockyards, just to give them the real duality of Texas, haha.

A few other places I’d definitely want to take them are the Fort Worth Nature Preserve, Dancing at Red River, walking through the Trinity Trails, and of course a visit to a Rangers game.

Other than that a quick trip up to Turner Falls, and hiking at Lake Grapevine, Cedar Ridge, and more.

As for food we’d certainly have to head to Hard Eight BBQ, HG Supply Co., DWELL Coffee, Root Southern, H3 for some chicken fried steak, and more. Im hungry just typing it!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I grew up in a medium sized town with a lot of potential dead ends. I wouldn’t have ever had the strength or skills to leave if it weren’t for the awesome community I had there. Whether it was my actual family, my church family, my teachers; or my best friends. I owe them the world.

I also owe an incredibly amount to my loving fiancée Charis, who always encourages me to go for it— whatever it is in that current moment of focus. (It changes a lot!)
