We had the good fortune of connecting with Devonte Howard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Devonte, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I wanted my business and my work to have influence to the people from related circumstances yet empowerment and have confidence with themselves and their products. Also, confidently exposing other businesses with video content to bring value in their market.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I’m proud of the most about my craft and my business is that it allows people to feel confident and become better version of themselves or their business. In 2012, I fell in love with videography and film while in school at Dubiski Career High School. In 2018, I received a degree in Audio & Visual at North Lake Community College. In 2015, I had a vision to start my own videography and photography business and used my bedroom as my photoshoot and editing to begin my practice. I’d slowly learned the business aspects and strategies when variety of people asked me to do certain projects for their business which was challenge as a beginner because I wasn’t taught the business or entrepreneurship aspect in school. Thankfully, I’ve found mentorships along the way; they have taught me the business side of the industry and as well as learn how to engage with people with confidence by bringing value to their business. Growing my business hasn’t been easy but it’s a blessing because I’m learning and developing new skills as a creative artist and as a person. What I learned about my business journey is that it’s giving back to the community by visual perspective. In biblical scripture, Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” My personal goal is to inspire the youth, encourage them to put their creativity to work, learn the business aspect and entrepreneurship so they can start their own company and experience freedom.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a hiking guru. I love to travel when comes to beautiful hiking places like grand canyons, Colorado mountains, Stone Mountain Georgia, etc. Anytime I travel somewhere either I’m with a friend or family member, I rather visit places that has a beautiful site seeings and creating memories.
