Meet Zoe Lewis | Pilates Instructor + Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Zoe Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zoe, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I started having kids, I realized studio life wasn’t a great fit! It was hard to get my classes covered when myself or my baby got sick, and I didn’t want to teach in the evenings or on the weekends. Right around this time the pandemic happened. Studios were forced to close their doors temporarily, but many ended up having to downsize or close altogether. Teachers were getting their own equipment to teach clients privately at home, and I thought, why not me?

What should our readers know about your business?
I opened my Pilates studio from my home with the intention of creating a space that felt approachable, supportive, and realistic for everyday life. As a mom of two boys, flexibility was essential, and my business was built to support both my clients and my family. What sets me apart is my belief in sustainable movement and progress—no extremes, just consistency and care.
Building this business wasn’t easy. Balancing motherhood, entrepreneurship, and content creation came with challenges, self-doubt, and growing pains. Along the way, I learned the importance of boundaries, patience, and staying aligned with my values. I’m most proud of the community I’ve built, both in my studio and online, and my brand reflects authenticity, balance, and the belief that you can build something meaningful from home, on your own terms.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d want to show her the best of North Dallas and Richardson—great food, time outdoors, shopping, and relaxed hangs.
We’d start mornings with coffee at Eilands Coffee in Richardson, followed by walks at Prairie Creek Park, Spring Creek Nature Area, or White Rock Lake. Shopping would be a mix of NorthPark Center, CityLine, and Park & Preston—easy places to spend an afternoon browsing and chatting with plenty of options for lunch.
For meals, I’d take her to favorites like McNeal’s Tavern in Plano or Cane Rosso in Hillcrest Village, and Sixty Vines—spots where you can linger and enjoy the vibe. We’d balance busy days with slower ones: brunch at Snooze or First Watch, maybe a spa afternoon at II Creeks Spa, and casual dinners with wine and good conversation.
To round it out, we’d fit in a museum visit at the Dallas Museum of Art or The Perot, revisit our favorite places, and keep things flexible. The goal would be simple: great food, fresh air, a little shopping, and plenty of time to relax and connect—the kind of trip that feels fun, easy, and very North Dallas.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband Dave who has supported me through education + training to opening my studio door, and to Nancy Hurd my master trainer who inspired me to create my own home studio space!
