We had the good fortune of connecting with Zara and Zenubia Khan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zara and Zenubia Khan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Since beginning our journey to become youngest girls to complete Microsoft Power Platform and Azure AI certification , we realize there is a gap in industry specially around evangelizing importance of STEM in girls of our age . This gap and our passion to bring more likeminded girls in STEM motivated us to make our work more organized and with some trackable objectives.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are 12-year-old twin sisters. At the age of 10, in midst of COVID 19, we stumble across Microsoft Low code / No code platform and fell in love with it. Within couple of months of learning Power Platform, we were encouraged by our mother to appear in professional examination of power platform. To our and many others surprise, we passed the exam in first attempt and became youngest girls to appear and pass the exam. This milestone started a journey of inspiring and evangelizing the importance of STEM specially towards young female students who often resist choosing STEM despite amazing success. Since 2020 , we have been participating in global events , raising importance of STEM for girls of our age an and trying to inspire more girls adopting STEM. We have seen small bit of success with some of our peers appearing in exams , participating in STEM events but journey continues.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are outdoor kids in nature , we would take our friends to parks any given day (if its not raining) . The other spot we enjoy more is library and we love spending time with our friends reading fiction or just re read Harry potter series again .

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Our journey started with watching our Father working in tech and be super passionate about engagement of Female student in STEM. He has been our mentor, coach and instructor who constantly guide us on we should plan our next steps and engagement. Our mother has been our biggest motivator and challenger at the same time, she was the one gave us confidence to appear in exam at the age of 10.

There have been so many other names from industry who constantly help us and encourage us , couple of our constant supporter who definitely deserves lot of credit are Faisal Fareed Sir , MD of 1Dynamics and Tammi Warfield Mam , Chief Strategy officer at Delphix . Both have been super supportive and source of inspiration.
