We had the good fortune of connecting with XANDRE and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi XANDRE, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
When you’ve been able to discover the motive behind your drive. You gotta self assess and ask yourself “What’s driving me to my goals or my milestones right now?” Sometimes we get so fixated on results and outcomes and start to make ourselves insecure thinking we’ve made bad decisions. When truly, making a decision is the best decision, especially if calculated, but what determines if it succeeds, is what makes the mystery of life.

There’s a scripture in the bible that says “In all your ways acknowledge Him (God) and He will direct your paths. I’ve truly experienced this so many times. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in 2015 and I spent 7 summers (2,555 days) working to get my health back to 100% August 2020 I hit 90%.

I had to keep reminding myself 1% closer every single day and moments when I wanted to give up on life and was tired of the constant stomach pains, the bleeding, not being able to eat, and the extreme conditions of being 90 lbs at age 23. I had to remind myself I’ve come too far to give up now. Weeping may last the night but joy always comes in the morning. I’ve sacrificed too much in making great decisions to let bad results, that are out of my control to bring me back 1% further.

So, how do you know whether to keep going or to give up? By discovering who and what is driving you.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is the intimate exchange of identity, What sets me apart from others, is that I’m not seeking to be a part of others. I’m trailblazing my own lane and trying to be better than who I was yesterday.

I recently got married to the woman of my dreams Aug 2021 and I’m really excited about building out our legacy together and experiencing life with her.

Getting where I am today professionally wasn’t easy at all, most of the prominent years of my life from age 15 to 28 were spent working on my mental health and physical health. I felt like i was robbed out of my youth and started working towards my purpose. I was able to overcome the challenges by building out my spiritual walk with God and getting closer to the revelation knowledge of wisdom and letting that guide me through the challenges I was dealing with.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned which I will forever share is “Where your focus is positioned, so will be your condition”. Let go and forgive. It’s okay to remember how people made you feel, but don’t live with those emotions.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ve recently moved out of NYC to Ontario, Canada and there’s really not much out here to be honest. I wouldn’t know much places to bring them as of yet but some great food spots are “Fresh”, “Osmows”, Patty Genius Caribbean restaurant their Jerk chicken gives you lifeeeee.

Haven’t been to get out much since covid restrictions died only a few months ago but I guess the fun part would be exploring places together for the first time lol

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shout out my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, my wonderful amazing Wife Shawna Alexandre, after God; She has literally been holding it down for ya boy. I couldn’t pray her to life. I’d like to also thank my former mentors, Jaymie Jordan of Bricklayers, Natalie Fikes, Marshall Fox of 120 Designs Studio. Austin & Darren of Glory Visuals for blessing me with a music video flying out all the way from Omaha Nebraska to NYC to shoot “929” for FREE, crazy. My parents for giving their best efforts in raising me. A lot of authors and communities have helped me in my journey thus far, such as Pastor Michael Todd of Transformation Church in Tulsa, OK, Chris Johnson of The Wealth Squad, and the virtual community my wife and I host named “Healing Through Transparency ™”

Oh, and how can I forget! My bro Anthony Anderson the Drummer from Bronx NY, I wouldn’t have had this opportunity to be interviewed by you guys without his recommendations.
