We had the good fortune of connecting with Wade Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Wade, how do you think about risk?
Risk SHOULD NOT be qualified or quantified without FIRST looking inside yourself.
To understand the forecasted outcome of risk, the single most important thing you must do is:
QUESTION YOUR MOTIVES!
The process of risk-taking is mentally and spiritually strenuous. It requires a massive internal battle inside you between comfortability and adaptability for extended periods of time.
Here’s how you win the battle:
Whether the risk you want to take is involved with business or your life, you MUST ground yourself mentally to understand the facts of the situation. Slow down, zoom out, and meditate before you consider the risk you want to take. This is the foundation for building lasting and sustainable outcomes.
Here are a few questions I ask myself before I consider projecting a forecasted outcome.
#1 Does this risk align with my own self-interests or God’s plan for me?
#2 Am I taking a risk out of fear of failure?
#3 Who will be affected by the risk and is the effect positive or negative?
#4 What does my gut say about the facts?
#5 What growth will come from the risk and is the growth sustainable?
Growing up, I was a blind risk taker. If I didn’t like something, if something wasn’t working, I was ready to change at that moment. I was ready to impulsively implement a solution to my problems,
The “destroyer” of internal peace and organizations is the impulsivity of risk-taking without internal analysis. Impulsivity only leads us to seek instant gratification through low-quality “band-aid” solutions.
Instead, we must question our motives and “sew” strong bindings that create permanence internally and externally throughout our lives and organizations. We are placed in uncomfortable situations for a reason and most importantly for a season!
A risk or a change may be a solution for you. However, to better understand and forecast a lasting outcome, you must first meditate to deeply understand your motives.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets us apart from the rest of the fitness industry is our approach to personal training.
The vast majority of people, myself included, are extremely busy and have little to no time to focus on themselves. We tailor our fitness approach to compliment your lifestyle through convenience and healthy habits.
By focusing on these two aspects, we find our clients are more consistent, more engaged with their trainer, and our clients are able to focus better by minimizing outside distractions you’d normally have inside of a gym.
I got to where I am professionally by practicing what I preach. By focusing on self-development. To get the results you want, you have to build momentum forward and remind yourself daily to follow the healthy habits you’ve set.
Getting to where I am today has been nothing short but challenging. However, I have recognized that the process of success and adaptation only happens over time, and roadblocks and challenges are required.
The reward of “success” and achievements are just brief milestones in your journey. The journey of self-improvement is where you have to keep yourself and what you have to learn to enjoy.
Enjoy the wins, but not for too long. If you stay in reward mode for too long, you’ll become complacent and lose sight of your vision.
The most important thing I’ve learned along the way is: Be humble because there’s so much more to learn than you think.
When you do have moments of great success, don’t brag about it. Celebrate quietly, put your head back down, and get back to work on the next goal.
We want the world to know that working out is not just about physical outcomes and achievements. Working out is about developing a stronger foundation for yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually.
A clear mind and good spirit will prepare you to tackle what the world has in front of you. That’s what we teach and that’s what we want the world to know.
We want you to be confident so that you can say: “I’m the best version of myself right now.” A mindset like that is truly unstoppable.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
