We had the good fortune of connecting with Vlad Kozh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vlad, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The key to the success of my brand lies in the power of a unique concept. When compared to other outdoor fitness activities such as Walking with Weights and Nordic Walking (also known as Scandinavian Walking), my brand, ISO Walking (or ‘Isometric Walking’), stands out with several notable benefits. It offers a more comprehensive and balanced training of upper body muscles, utilizes a more compact exercise device, and allows for training in various positions – walking, sitting, or standing. Unlike other fitness trends that primarily focus on aerobic activity, ISO Walking emphasizes upper-body strength training.
Furthermore, Nordic Walking, being the leading brand in outdoor fitness activities, has about 20 million practitioners in their training today. Recognizing the advantages of Isometric Walking over these well-known fitness brands, coupled with the vast number of people interested in such physical activities, instills in me a strong belief in the potential success of my brand.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The genesis of my business idea came from a personal need. After completing my service in the armed forces, where I received excellent physical training, I continued to engage in sports. However, balancing work and studies meant that I had less time for physical activities. I found morning jogging to be the most suitable fitness routine for me. While the runs were incredibly beneficial, I noticed that they didn’t engage my arms as much.
To address this, I invented a device that allowed me to run and train my upper torso muscles simultaneously. This innovation not only reduced my training time but also enhanced its effectiveness. Over time, I realized that others might also find this equipment useful. This realization marked the inception of my business.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I would definitely plan a trip that encapsulates the beauty of the great outdoors, as I personally love activities like camping, fishing, and hiking.
**Day 1-2: Camping and Fishing**
We would start our adventure with a two-day camping trip at one of the local campgrounds. It’s the perfect place to unwind, enjoy the tranquility of nature, and catch up around a campfire. We’d spend our days fishing at the nearby lake, a peaceful spot teeming with a variety of fish.
**Day 3: Trail Exploration**
After returning from our camping trip, we’d take a day to rest and then set off on a local trail. The trail offers stunning views of the landscape and is a great way to appreciate the local flora and fauna.
**Day 4-5: City Exploration**
Next, we’d spend a couple of days exploring the city. We’d visit local landmarks, museums, and art galleries. In the evenings, we’d check out some local restaurants and bars, sampling local cuisine and enjoying the nightlife.
**Day 6: Leisure Day**
On the sixth day, we’d have a leisurely day where we could relax at a local spa or go shopping at the local markets.
**Day 7: Farewell BBQ**
On the final day, I’d host a backyard BBQ, inviting a few close friends over. It’s the perfect way to end the week, reminiscing about the past adventures and making plans for the next ones.
This itinerary offers a balance of outdoor activities and city exploration, with plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy each other’s company. I believe it’s the perfect way to show my best friend the best time ever.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The success I’ve achieved would not have been possible without the support and guidance of my friends, acquaintances, and business partners, particularly those with expertise in sports and fitness. I owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Brian Sterling-Vete, Ph.D., the President of The World Isometric Exercise Association (TWiEA), who has been an active supporter of our fitness brand, providing invaluable mentorship and advice. As per Wikipedia, Brian Sterling-Vete is a multifaceted personality – an English author, Guinness World Record Holder, motivational speaker, TV broadcaster, Director, Stage, Film and Television actor, stunt performer, martial arts expert, fitness expert, and entrepreneur.
Another instrumental figure in our business development is Ian Northcott, who was honored as the “Online Coach of the Year” in 2023 in the UK. Ian, the proprietor of the renowned “Mercian Nordic Walking and Mercian Fitness” club, has incorporated Isometric Walking into his club’s training regimen, further validating its effectiveness. These collaborations have been pivotal in our journey towards success.
