We had the good fortune of connecting with Vivian Armendariz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vivian, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
As a full-time college student, work balance and time management are significant to my success. My ability to meet deadlines, create social media content, network, and more is based on how well I can manage my time efficiently and effectively. In addition, I have learned to plan to ensure my tasks are completed with quality. Although balancing work and school can be challenging, it is also essential to take some personal time and remember why you love what you do!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When I created my small business, I wanted to emphasize the idea of western, boho, and chic fashion and accommodate all styles and trends. In today’s world, there are so many different iconic styles and trends within the fashion world that also allow a lot of creativity and uniqueness to bloom. Because of this, I liked the idea of wearing a western bag but would also like to accessorize my outfit with a fashion hat and complimentary jewelry that brings both western and modern styles. With that in mind, I started my business with the same ideas. I did not just want to serve one category of fashion but multiple trends.

On the other hand, as a senior in college, I am majoring in Global Business and Marketing Management, which allows me to learn more about the business side of the spectrum. It is not easy to open a business because, in the end, no one wants to fail. However, anything is possible with the right tools and skills. I like the world to know that you may not know what the result is if you never start.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the DFW Area. There are so many different places to try. It is incredible. To begin, a good breakfast place I always recommend is “The Social House.” It is a very laid-back brunch place with an excellent ambiance to it. I love the “Eiland Coffee Roasters” in Richardson, TX, for a good coffee shop. It is close to my university, and the modern chic decor and light make it cozy for a good place to work and drink coffee. For dinner, I just tried a place called “Lexy’s” and served American-based food and cocktails. The ambiance of this place was excellent; the decor was based on light pink, feathers, and roses that filled the ceiling and walls. Because it is in the Trinity Groves area, I would also recommend the Cake Bar for dessert, as they serve the best coconut cake.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize my mom, who has always supported me throughout my educational career and the startup of my business. She consistently reminded me why I should be my boss and how I could do anything I set my mind. Because of her, I decided to start my business in my junior year of college, and from then on, she has been my support and encouragement. My mom is a big part of my success, and I would like to thank her for never giving up on me and my dreams.
