We had the good fortune of connecting with Vishwas Vijayan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vishwas, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
In my sophomore year, I had the privilege of meeting a senior who I looked up to as a role model for academic excellence. Although she had a vision, she needed help executing it. I offered to assist and we started working together on Project 10-10, a website aimed at helping teens and children struggling with math due to the COVID pandemic and falling behind in middle and high school math. Our goal was to support elementary learners and we have since expanded to assist middle and high school students. We strived to make Project 10-10 a business that will always exist due to the constant never-ending demand for school help.

Furthermore, I used to be against Project Based Learning (PBL). However, after 3 years in PBL, I realized how much it had helped me succeed and wanted to bring this to lower grade levels. PBL exposes students to real-world applications and situations, which can prove to be incredibly useful in the long run.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Project 10-10 may appear to be just another tutoring service, but it goes beyond that. Our tutors don’t simply teach; they facilitate learning, which helps improve cognitive abilities. In addition, we’re proud to be the first in the DFW area to implement Project-Based Learning, which our students engage in on a daily basis. Our goal is not only to teach but also to guide our students toward understanding the real-life implications of what they learn in the classroom.
