We had the good fortune of connecting with Vikram Patel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vikram, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The life of a solopreneur when first setting up and running a business can be very difficult. There are so many hats to juggle on your own. You have to think about key concepts like bringing in ideas, pitching and finding ways to validate them, having the operational speed to execute both big-picture conversations and detailed tasks, and most importantly, making sure customers and investors are happy throughout the whole journey.
I wanted to make the lives of creative entrepreneurs and small business owners easier by equipping them with the exact team, tools, and resources needed for every step of the way as they aim to grow their businesses. And so began WON.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I take pride in how we carry business. Having the right energy and carrying service through joy/humility goes a long way, and I think our team does just that. We also focus on transparency and adaptability by playing on each other’s strengths and identify weaknesses, so that we may provide our clients with the best possible experiences.
As we are closing in on year 3, getting to where we are today was not easy, but it never is. Growing up, I would always look at athletes/heroes and admire their resilient characteristics to get past trials and tribulations. I believe our team embodies that same resilience. We’re a bunch of dreamers who want to help people and do whatever it takes. It’s the best.
I believe we all have a story, and it is our privilege to be able to help nurture and grow another’s. As a storytelling collective, if we’re working overnight on your dreams, then we’ve already WON.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I really love the bishop arts area. I think walking around there is always a vibe, because there’s always so many things to explore and look at. I would make sure we drop by Spinster records, a personal favorite.
Once we’ve built up an appetite, we would go to Oni Ramen in the Deep Ellum area. The combo of warm noodles and great conversation never misses.
In the evening time, seeing the Dallas skyline is a must. I would probably take my friend to a rooftop bar to see it.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to first appreciate my team ~ Julia David, Khalen Haribhai, Trisha Patel, Victoria Chur, Gladys Gonzalez, and Shivani Haribhai. Thank you for your constant belief in me as a leader for WON. I feel blessed to take on projects with all of you rockstars.
I also want to thank my family and friends for your continued love and support. I feel like the world is my oyster because I have all of you backing me. Only way is up. 🚀
