We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler Glenn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyler, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My first initial thought was if I can earn a little extra money, I can buy better medicine for my type 1 diabetes and get better care, and get rest and be able to afford a healthy diet, working 2 jobs and 60 hours a week was taking a tole on my body and I needed to really think about the future, and that we only get one body.

What should our readers know about your business?
Please tell us more about your business.

We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others

What sets me apart from other businesses is my willingness to go above and beyond for the customer. I believe my ability to really connect with my customers is second to none. I go above and beyond other businesses to make sure I am providing top notch customer service and I believe this is what has given me such a loyal following that is incomparable businesses.

what you are most proud? I would say that reaching the 5 year mark with Red Dirt Rubs is the thing I am most proud of. Longevity is the goal with any business. However, 5 years is quite an accomplishment considering that 49 percent of small business’s fail within the first 5 years. Despite these statistics we are continuing to build traction and as a business that gives us a lot to build on.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Lots of late nights and my non-stop work ethic is how I got to where I am today. Was it easy? No

If not, how did you overcome the challenges? By learning from my mistakes.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. To not compare others chapter 34th to my one.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story? At a small business can still make big noise.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my community, and my family for supporting me, and thank my fraternity Phi Beta Sigma for giving me the keys to leadership and business and behaving in the manor a man always should, I would like to dedicate this piece to my Mom who I watched work two jobs sun up to sun down just to make sure I didn’t go to school hungry or unclothed, she taught me no dream is too big, and most importantly she taught me to be selfless and humble.
