We had the good fortune of connecting with Tushar/Rooha Jain/Alexender and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tushar/Rooha, how do you think about risk?
The younger the person, the more effort one has to take to be given a chance to be trusted. To achieve a reliable and authoritative role, one must take a chance on themselves. That’s what we, Tushar Jain, a junior at Frisco Centennial High School, and Rooha Alexender, a freshman at Austin College, are continuously trying to accomplish. We were both in high school when we joined the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, where our mentors took the risk on us in hopes that we would start a company to help society. Because of their guidance and confidence in us, Conspire turned from a simple idea into a company through authentic teamwork. Within what felt like seconds, we were pitching to key investors from the Frisco area, advertising to schools around FISD, and discussing business with possible partners to be a part of our Conspire family. Specifically, Conspire is a membership based service which helps encourage writers at a young age to use their imagination to create written work such as: comics, chapter and picture books, essays, and short stories through collaboration. We are blessed and thankful to have people take a chance on us, a continuous motivation to work harder to give back something to the community, and hopefully making them proud.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Social media takes away the art of writing. Conspire is a membership-based website to foster writers to use their imagination to come up with written work: comic, chapter, picture books, poems, essays, and short stories. The writers will go through the editorial process and are given help through it all! By making friends, people are encouraged to collaborate with up to five people, share ideas, and have an opportunity to officially publicize their work. From here, the members have a choice of gifting it to a loved one, framing their accomplishment, selling and making a profit, or even cherishing it by finding a place on their bookstand! Our biggest accomplishment is being the only company during the Investor panel to receive the full amount of money we had asked for. We plan for a potential seasonal competition that will be held during the spring and fall which will again provide an opportunity to publicize their written pieces. The ability to help writers publish their creativity through collaboration is one of our greatest benefits. Developing authors as kids will not only motivate but inspire them to write more while being creative. At first, there were hiccups from choosing the company colors to marketing strategies; however, having a partner like Tushar makes it easier to have an open communication, which makes it uncomplicated for a compromise. Since I just graduated from high school and Tushar is still in high school, finding time to nurture our company and ourselves is a bit tedious, but we have found a way, especially during these quarantine times. Right now, we are creating a whole new website which is still under construction, and finding new ways to target our public audience through social media and networking within our community to get the company’s name out. Additionally, the fact that YEA is still assisting and supporting Conspire to flourish strengthens our Conspire family.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would most definitely take them back to Frisco and our stop would be at Olive Garden and then to Andy’s for dessert. The next couple of days we would hang out at the many parks here in frisco like the Frisco Commons Park for a little bike ride/ hiking for some nature. Go visit one of the lakes like, Little Elm, or a peaceful place to have a wonderful picnic lunch outside. For dinner, probably go to On the Border for some good mexican food. The next day, we would do something indoors like the Main Event and a quick stop at the mall and have food there. The next few days will be farther out near Dallas. One day for the dallas zoo, another for the aquarium, and another day for a nice stroll through the Botanic garden. During these days stop at any pizza place, get bubble tea, 89 degrees for some fresh pastries, 7 degrees ice cream rolls, Sloane’s Corner, and definitely stop by to get some Canes and Whataburger! For the weekend then we would come back to Frisco and shop at Legacy West and spend the day there. Sunday, we would go to Saint Francis Church in Frisco and show the beauty in the church. Finally stop and get IHOP as Sunday Brunch, come back and watch a movie at Cinemark.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We applied for the Young Entrepreneur’s Academy to make our ideas come alive. We were able to learn marketing, management, and financial skills. After meeting each other we made Laser Books enhance itself into Conspire. We met investors, talked to members of the EDC, interviewed with Lifestyle Magazine, presented awards for the Best Businesses of the year for FRISCO STYLE, and spread Conspire family’s love so that every student can enjoy their accomplishment. During the first couple of sessions, we were astonished about the courage needed for a business. We still remember, on our first day, our managers considered us not only CEOs/ CFOs but their very own; Mr. Burns had his prestigious looks and wisdom, Ms. Sarah had her sweet and warming smile, Mr. Allen had his supporting and humble personality, and Mr. Kevin had his informative and interactive lectures. Because of YEA, we successfully presented ourselves and our company confidently to investors. They made sure that we not only understood the concepts, but also visited inspiring companies around the Frisco area. Through the process, we learned from business skills to character development, which only enhanced Conspire. YEA is a special opportunity for all students who want to make a difference. Now the Conspire Family is in the process of creating a new updated website and continuing to bring out Conspire to the community. We would also like to give a huge shout out and thank VoyageDallas for giving us support and opportunities to talk about our business.
