We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevis Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trevis, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The complexity when working with chemicals, on so many different type of surfaces. Any one can use chemicals and attempt to clean something, but if not done correctly, they can ruin or even destroy something that’s perfectly good. .I believe you have to be knowledgeable on what works best to accomplish the job. In this business it’s easy to tell a client, you can get it done. When it’s not done right, by a professional, it can lead to costly repairs. I know clients do not like to hear that their property needs a full restoration, that’s why we believe we stand out. We do amazing work and also understand how to convey real expectations to our clients. We only take on jobs were we meet our high standards, If we are asked to cut corners to meet a client’s budget and can not truly be proud of our work, then as a business owner with high standard’s, I have to decline. As a business owner, I always want to be proud of the work we do and will always strive to do better everyday.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started my career as a firefighter, which gives you a great feeling of accomplishment, to serve the community. Still there was a passion to work for myself, even potentially have something that I can pass on to my son, if he is interested. I knew I wanted to do something exciting to me and Pressure Washing was that for me. Years ago I started to learn as much as I could about the industry, then slowly started doing small jobs, then started doing bigger commercial jobs. You can say I have my PWD Pressure Washing Degrees now!
I have learned, in business, typically no one will ever work as hard as you will for your business. When you are an owner/operator you find that you go over beyond what client’s expectations are. The feeling of providing a service to clients directly and then you preforming the work is extremely gratifying. I would always recommend any business owner to make sure they not only know how to manage but at least know how to preform the work, they are asking their employees to do. This always makes for a better and understanding business owner. Employees respect owners who know how to do their job and communicate better with them.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite things to do every year, is go to the Texas state fair, food is amazing, fried banana cream pie then get a corn dog! If only it was year round.. In Texas we love our whiskey, and Whiskey Cake serves amazing food and you can take your own whisky flight. Another fun thing I love to do is go to Texas live before a ranger home game, then you simply walk over to the beautiful globe life field and watch the red hot rangers, in ac that is. Always enjoy going to the vault in Mansfield, best steak in Dfw along with amazing bartenders who are true mixologists.. Lewisville lake is fun place to take friends during the summer, no clear water or white sand beaches but the lake keeps cool.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My kids are the most important, amazing little people in my life. Sometimes after working all day outside, then finally making it home (with still more clerical business things to do) they are always excited to see me.. It always amazes me how a rough day can get so much better when they tell me how they learned something new. I work so much to give them opportunities I never had. It’s safe to say they have been my rock throughout the years. Even though they do not completely understand why I work so much, they are appreciative. I may not have Tiktoc or YouTube channel but I am quite popular at home. Lol. The success I have is also in part to an awesome business partner. When things get to hectic and I need him to take the lead, he steps right up. Having the right business partner you can trust is extremely important. I am fortunate in that aspect, I would never say I am self made. I am made by the wonderful people around me, it makes me work harder for them!
