We had the good fortune of connecting with Tony Ferraro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tony, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted the title Artist. I never really thought about starting a business. My friends and I had bands since fourth grade. We’d have shows. The shows needed posters. I did the posters and I played the shows. Then I kept doing that for a few decades. I get to read, write and draw every day.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I write stories, songs, and jokes .. and I draw.

I am lucky to be a part of a large and expanding community of artists.

I am wherever I am because I took myself there, sometimes intentionally, sometimes by happy accident.

Nothing about this life is easy, there are many rude surprises. The more I work, the more I show up, the more opportunities pop up.

I am learning new lessons every day. If you need to know anything about me then know that I write, I draw, I love learning, and I love making friends. Art is a fantastic bridge for human connection.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to J&J’s Pizza. Then we would walk to Recycled Books and hang for at least an hour. Then we would go to the best bar in town: my house.

Day 2: I cook breakfast (sausage, toast, egg, coffee), watch some TV/news. Greenhouse Restaurant for lunch. Get toasty on the patio and hang around til dinner time, through which we will nap.

Day 3: They’re away, visiting other people in the area. I go to the library for a cookbook and a couple of DVD movies we can watch.

Day 4: See friends and friends.

Day 5: Something respectable like visiting family.

Day 6: Party like demons. Go to a show at Andy’s, Dan’s, or Rubber Gloves.

Day 7: Take it easy cuz they have a flight in the morning.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My artist friends are brilliant and inspire me to no end.
