We had the good fortune of connecting with Toni Thrash and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Toni, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
Great question! The goal is to build a well-respected coaching business on solid relationships and trust with my clients. I want to serve my clients well and establish my schedule with time off to do the other things that bring me joy. It would be incredible to do coaching full-time and it not be a side hustle. I want to make money, but serving my clients well is my main purpose.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started Fortitude Life Coaching around 6 years ago. It’s now Toni Thrash Coaching which is a new transition in the past year. Starting a business is always hard and the overthinking of every decision will stall you. I have learned that imperfection is okay and to go ahead and put it out there. The risks are the steps to failure. Failure lends itself to growth which lends itself to the direction you want to go. The specific fear of putting yourself out there can cause some anxiety. Then a client will mention something you said in a reel or your podcast that lets you know for that day you pointed someone to their answer. My story is one of a newly divorced woman 10 years ago wondering what was next. I had some major help along the way to start this coaching business. I’ve known since I was in 8th grade I wanted to coach. I coached volleyball, basketball, and tennis for over 25 years, and those lessons from the court and whiteboard transfer very easily to life in general. Establishing a relationship with my clients is paramount to anything I do. The ability to hear what they are not saying helps me point them to “get off the bench” through any life transition they may be walking through.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I live in Frisco, I would probably take them to tour the Star. It’s the home of the Dallas Cowboys workout facility. It has the Ring of Honor with descriptions of each of the Cowboy players and is such a cool area. I would visit one of my favorite restaurants, TruFire, also here in Frisco. It has a wonderful menu and everything is remarkable. The Arboretum is one of my favorite places. It is a peaceful getaway from city life. Right now, the tulips and spring flowers are simply gorgeous. A walk around White Rock Lake is a must if the weather permits.
Tupps Brewery is a family favorite. Wednesday night trivia is a nice mid-week break, competing with other teams in trivia. Elias is a great trivia host and stand-up comic all rolled into one!
Coffee is a must in my world and I have several little coffee hangouts I love! In Fairview, I am a regular at Armor Coffee Company. I go there to work and enjoy great food and coffee. The other little shop is in downtown Lewisville called Perc. Honestly, they have the best cinnamon scone I have ever had!
I love the outdoors and hiking. An hour away is Eisenhower State Park with a nice hike, a cave, and a beach area that is on the banks of Lake Texhoma!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I want to thank my kids, Taylor, Jordan, and Cameron Thrash. Their continued encouragement and belief in me stand above anyone else. I have an accountability group that meets weekly and they speak the stuff I may not want to hear but are my staunch supporters and encouragers. Finally, my friend and coach Kim Stewart, urged me to start a podcast and has taken notes on every conversation we’ve ever had to show me I have enough content! So grateful for her!
