We had the good fortune of connecting with Tina Hansing-lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tina, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
As a 20-year veteran in the fitness industry, I’ve always been passionate about helping others achieve their health and wellness goals. Yet, despite my dedication, there were moments when I felt burned out, questioning whether I was truly making a lasting impact on my clients’ lives. In 2020, I decided to take a step back to reevaluate my path and explore other options.

I accepted a position as an Operations Manager, a role that was predominantly sedentary—something very different from my active fitness background. It didn’t take long for me to realize how much I missed having a physical component in my daily life. Despite carving out an hour a day for the gym, I felt something was still missing. The lack of movement and alignment with my personal values left me unfulfilled.

This experience was a wake-up call. I realized that physical activity wasn’t just something I did—it was an essential part of who I was and a cornerstone of my well-being. I wanted more than just a workout; I wanted a deeper connection to wellness. This led me to pursue certifications in health and life coaching, where I learned how to build daily routines that support a true work-life balance.

Through this journey, I also became certified to teach The Clarity Catalyst, a course that introduced me to transformative tools and strategies for personal growth. It gave me the framework to create harmony in my own life and the skills to help my clients do the same.

Now, I approach wellness as a holistic journey for my clients at Healthy Life Phases that integrates:

Fitness training: To strengthen the body, boost energy, and relieve stress.
Health coaching: To build sustainable habits and nourish the body from the inside out.
Mindfulness coaching: To cultivate presence, manage stress, and connect with deeper purpose.
This holistic approach acknowledges that work-life balance isn’t about rigid schedules or dividing life into neat compartments. Instead, it’s about creating harmony—aligning physical, mental, and emotional well-being with life’s demands and joys.

By combining these disciplines, I’ve not only transformed my own life but also empowered my clients to achieve meaningful, lasting change. Together, we focus on aligning their actions with their values, enabling them to lead lives that are healthier, more fulfilling, and authentically balanced.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Healthy Life Phases is more than just a business—it’s a mission to empower women to reclaim their health and joy by creating balance in their lives. As a certified Health and Life Coach, I focus on guiding my clients through every phase of their journey, offering support physically, mentally, and spiritually. What sets Healthy Life Phases apart is the holistic approach I take, combining fitness training, health and mindfulness coaching, and community-building to create meaningful and lasting transformation.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I might be biased but my favorite place to take visitors is DFW surf at Hidden Cove Park in Frisco. I love being able to paddleboard, practice yoga and wake surf from one location on a beautiful lake setting during the day especially at sunset. If my visitors were here during the full moon I would bring them out to that event which starts with a themed celebration, sunset paddleboard yoga followed by a moonlight paddle that’s not to be missed.
I also recently discovered Llela nature reserve in Lewisville that has some nice hiking trails and access to down river paddling and recommend Arbor Hills for more hiking adventures nearby.

There are too many food venues to name as we have so many choices in the DFW area. There’s The Grandscape that offers a wide variety of entertainment including Fireside Surf Park which not only great for surfing but has an excellent menu and chill vibe. Just outside of The Grandscape is The Truck Yard for drinks, food trucks, music and more and World’s Springs for a spa experience like no other in the area with over 40 relaxing mineral pools from around the world. Other hots spots nearby include The Star and Legacy West for a mix of great dining and entertainment as well.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
