We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Bond and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my business after working as a RN in the ICU through the 2020 pandemic. I really needed something to offset the sadness of my full time job and photography became my outlet. Now in 2024, photography is my full time job! I have always loved photography and taken photos of my children constantly, but I knew I wanted to work with babies. Newborns & motherhood/maternity are where my passion has always been and I just love it so much. I immediately began taking newborn photography classes and acquiring a client closet of maternity dresses. As of right now I specialize in maternity and newborn as well as photographing milestone sessions and families. It’s so much fun and makes my heart so full. I have clients that feel like family and I get to watch their children grow and it’s just amazing. I feel so blessed to get to love my job! I most recently opened a storefront studio in Saginaw and am so excited to see where I will be this time next year!
What should our readers know about your business?
When I first started my business, I knew I wanted to dive in full force. I opened a credit line, bought some great gear and created my LLC. I’m a Registered Nurse and have medical training under my belt which I believe sets me apart from a lot of other newborn photographers. I am big on safety and monitor my little ones during our sessions to make sure they are warm and comfortable and safe at all times. While I do have a style that I would call true to color, warm and slightly moody- I pride myself on being able to give my clients what they want. I’ve been dabbling in fine art maternity as well as outdoor and lifestyle. My studio has a boho area as well as a bright and modern area and I can make my photography style fit with both of those options to give my clients the photos they love and cherish forever. I am most excited about my studio, as I only opened it four months ago. I can’t wait to watch it grow and change over the next year. I’m also excited to be offering fine art photography to my clients. I’m always learning new things and constantly revising things to make them better. I think the hardest thing I’ve had to learn for my business is not to overbook myself. I’ve always had trouble saying no but I’ve realized over the last year that photography can consume you if you let it. I found myself shooting seven days a week and editing all night long with no sleep. I’ve had to set some rules for myself for days that I have sessions and edit while giving myself at least one day off a week and it feels a lot better. I feel that my clients get a better version of me when I’m rested and on my game!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would book the Omni Hotel in Fort Worth and hang out at the wine bar. We would visit the bass performance hall if there was a good show and then get dinner at the Razoos on Main and share a gator bowl and fried alligator, yummmm. Throughout the week we would visit the water gardens, Sundance square and visit shops throughout downtown. We would also spend time relaxing in the hot tub and drinking wine! I love love love shopping and buying gifts for people. I would go to the candy store downtown and get my kids bags of candy for when I returned home. I feel like downtown Fort Worth is a whole scene and I’d definitely want to show my friend the experience.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to send a shoutout to my Mom! I’m a total Mamas girl and she has been with me through thick and thin. Helping me manage everything, watch my kiddos when I’ve been on late night shoots, help me stay organized and on top of everything. My mother is retired but actually helps me run my social media and I couldn’t do any of this without her. She has always been my biggest cheerleader and best friend. Love you Mom!!!
