Hi Tiara, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was rooted in a lifelong love for nails. Ever since I was young, I was fascinated by nail art and design, but I never explored it deeply enough to recognize it as my true passion. Over time, I realized how much joy and creativity this field brought me, and I decided to pursue it seriously by becoming a licensed nail technician. Starting my own business allowed me to combine this passion with the desire to create something of my own—a space where I could connect with clients, express my creativity, and provide high-quality services. It’s been a journey of self-discovery and turning a childhood interest into a meaningful career.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Hands of Aqua is more than just a nail business—it’s a space where creativity, quality, and connection come together. What sets my business apart is the genuine care and attention I put into every detail, from the designs I create to the experience I provide for my clients. My goal is to make everyone who sits in my chair feel beautiful, confident, and valued. I specialize in custom nail art and strive to bring each client’s unique vision to life while using high-quality products and prioritizing healthy nail care.

Starting Hands of Aqua has been a journey of passion, perseverance, and growth. I fell in love with nails at a young age, but it wasn’t until I decided to dig deeper and pursue my license as a nail technician that I realized this was my true calling in 2023. Getting to where I am today has been anything but easy. There were challenges, from mastering technical skills to building a brand and navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. What kept me going was my love for what I do and the unwavering support of my family and friends.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way is the importance of patience and persistence. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but every small step forward is progress. I’ve also learned to trust my creative instincts and to never underestimate the power of connecting with my clients on a personal level. Their trust and loyalty mean everything to me.

What I want the world to know about Hands of Aqua is that it’s not just a business—it’s a reflection of my passion, dedication, and vision. My brand is built on the belief that nails are a form of self-expression and empowerment. I’m excited to continue growing, inspiring others, and sharing my love for nail artistry with the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d plan the ultimate week filled with fun, food, and unforgettable experiences! To kick things off, we’d start with a visit to the Fort Worth art museum. It’s the perfect spot to soak in some culture and be inspired by beautiful artwork. Afterward, we’d head to Vidorra in Grand Prairie for lunch. The vibes are always immaculate, and the food and drinks are top-notch—a must-have for any outing.

Since we both love to shop, we’d spend an afternoon exploring the Galleria. With so many great stores, it’s the ideal place for a little retail therapy (or a lot!). For the perfect end to the day, we’d hit up Deep Ellum for some nightlife fun. The area has such a cool energy, with live music, unique bars, and an amazing atmosphere to just let loose and enjoy.

The rest of the week would be a mix of relaxing and exploring more of the local gems. I’d take her to some of my favorite brunch spots, maybe do a little sightseeing, and definitely find time for some spa or self-care moments. There’s so much to see and do in the DFW area, but this itinerary hits all the highlights for an exciting, memorable visit!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a huge shoutout to my incredibly supportive family! They have been my rock throughout this entire journey. There’s truly no other support like the kind that comes from those who know you best and genuinely want to see you succeed. Their love, encouragement, and belief in me have helped shape me into the person I am today. I couldn’t have come this far without them, and I’m forever grateful for their unwavering support.
