We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiana Tranowicz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiana, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always had the dream of becoming an entrepreneur, but until recently, I couldn’t pinpoint the perfect venture for me. Witnessing the joy and freedom experienced by those who owned their own businesses only fueled my desire to pave my way on a similar path. However, when my family relocated from New York to Texas due to my husband’s job, I found myself having to leave my area of project management behind. It was during this transitional phase that I realized it was the ideal moment to explore my entrepreneurial aspirations and start my very own “side hustle.”
What initially began as a lighthearted endeavor to meet new people and earn some supplementary income soon flourished into a full-time business. Satisfied clients began referring my services to their acquaintances, and even local businesses sought my assistance as their trusted notary. Gradually, almost before I could fully grasp the rapid transformation, I found myself living my long-held dream of running my own business.
Throughout this journey, I’ve adhered to a personal motto that has served me well: even on days when motivation is lacking, I make a conscious effort to undertake at least one small task that contributes to the growth and advancement of my business. By consistently taking these incremental steps, I have managed to propel my venture forward and achieve a level of success that I had only once imagined.
What should our readers know about your business?
Notaries in the DFW area are a dime a dozen, but I was determined to carve out a niche for myself. My vision was clear: to become the Remote Online Notary service with a focus on exceptional customer care. I aimed to make the notarization process stress-free and effortless for every client. What fills me with immense pride is that I have been able to deliver precisely that. Along the way, these clients have transformed into more than just customers. I’ve become their cheerleader in their journeys and witnessing their progress brings me such joy.
On the other side of my business, conducting Loan signings, I find deep gratification. Being present during one of the most pivotal moments in a customer’s life—the purchase of a home—is an honor beyond words. The sheer delight of guiding them through the paperwork and capturing cherished photographs at the journey’s end fills my very soul. Many of these individuals are first-time home buyers, and they represent the first homeowners within their families. To be part of such a significant milestone is immensely rewarding.
Having experienced the profound loss of both parents and a sibling, I have developed an extraordinary level of empathy towards signors who find themselves hospitalized, surrounded by family, while finalizing trusts and other critical documents. I understand the weight of the burdens they carry and strive to go above and beyond in alleviating their stress. These individuals are tasked with completing and creating documents they never anticipated having to utilize. It is a sobering period, but it also presents an opportunity for me to lend a helping hand. Ensuring their comfort and peace of mind remains an unwavering priority within my business. Above all else, my commitment to assisting and supporting people will forever remain at the forefront.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since were new to the city, only being here a little over a year were still figuring out the places to go as well! I will say there is always something to do. Always an outdoor market to explore, or a music festival. Two of my favorite activities.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people that I have met along the way that have contributed to my success. However my family has been the biggest supporters. My husband, Jason. During moments of self-doubt and uncertainty, he consistently made it clear that he had faith in my abilities. Instead of fixating on financial concerns, he emphasized the importance of pursuing a profession that truly made me happy.
In a unique way, my teenage daughter, Lyllei, unknowingly became one of my greatest motivators. I’m always preaching to her to follow your dreams, do what makes you happy even if its scarry at first. The best decisions made come out of being uncomfortable.
Additionally, I was fortunate to have a remarkable mentor named Christine, whose belief in my untapped potential pushed me forward. From the very beginning, she patiently guided me through the logistics of notarization, even throwing me into the world of loan signings. Her confidence in my abilities, even at times when fear threatened to consume me, instilled a newfound sense of self-assurance. Her belief in my capacity to thrive fostered the belief within myself that success was within my reach.
