We had the good fortune of connecting with Ti Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ti, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson this business has taught me is to be consistent until business is consistent…consistently coming in. Be confident even in failure so you can pick yourself up to keep going. Lastly don’t expect anyone to help you make your vision a reality.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a Realtor in Dallas, TX, servicing the DFW metroplex. I started the journey back in 2019 and since it has been quite the ride. I will never say this has been easy because it certainly is not. Real estate is a beast within itself, then there’s all the competition. When you first start it’s intimidating, and all you do is see other agents appearing to have it all figured out, with all the business and success. You soon realize things aren’t what they appear to be, and if they are the struggle was REAL!
I am proud that I have been able to push through all the obstacles, the ups and downs, all the hard times and still be on this journey. I have had times when I wanted to give up, move on to something different. However, I know that great things take time and as long as I keep at it, all the pieces will fall into place, and that they are doing. So being consistent and really understanding the business is how I have been able to progress.
Ultimately my business has grown and will continue to grow. It doesn’t matter what side I’m working on, listing or selling, the entire transaction is my priority. This mindset, I believe, separates me from other agents. My due diligence to my client goes above and beyond what the can typically expect. I take pride in taking care of my clients and truly doing what it takes to make their real estate dreams a reality.
I will continue to be consistent and build my brand and business efficiently. The end goal is to have a legacy and become bigger than real estate. My story is still being written, but I want the world to know I’m on the way!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I try to give my visitors a little taste of everything! We’re definitely doing breakfast or brunch! My favorite places right now is The Brunch District in Grapevine and The Common Table in Plano I also love sushi so, Blue Sushi is my go to right now; especially on Sunday…half off deals.
Places that I like to hangout: Deep Ellum, Uptown and Legacy area.
Some of my favorite attractions include: Dallas Karting Complex, The Sandbox and any of the professional sporting events are always a good time.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My grandmother, Linnie! She was my inspiration, my motivation. She poured into me and one of the only adults in my childhood that ever took the time to teach me things. I didn’t know then, but as I grew older, I understood that a person who goes out of their way to teach you things they know will benefit you in life, truly cares about you, It shows they want the best for you, and want you to be your best self.
She was an entrepreneur, and what we consider today to be a BOSS!! She was a beautician, owned her own salon, did hair for the local funeral home and she owned properties. She was well known in her neighborhood, heavily involved in her church, even playing the piano for the choir. She did it all. She really did well for herself as a black woman during her time. I admired her and her drive. Watching her thrive as a child, made me oblivious to obstacles and barriers people of color often had to overcome on their journey to success. My grandmother made it look easy, and I believed I could be just like her, and that’s exactly what I am setting out to do.
