We had the good fortune of connecting with The Mox and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi The, why did you pursue a creative career?
I always knew growing up, that some way or another I was gonna do music. I feel like i always knew really that nothing else was gonna make me happy so this was always the goal. I think everyone in the band also shares that same feeling and i think that it’s one of the biggest reasons why we work so well together.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The Mox is a way for us to tell a story in the only way we really know how. Its also a way for us to kind of show love to the things that we grew up loving and maybe hopefully pass that on to a new generation later on down the line. It was a long road for all of us to get to where we are now. Through many attempts at old bands tgat didn’t pan out the way we wanted and even my own solo career, but the moment we all met it just clicked in a way and we knew that this time, this was gonna work. We’re very excited to finally go on the road and show people what we’ve been working on for the past few months. We started our first run on Jan 28th and its going to take us all around texas by the end of April.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definately check out some of the cool venues in town. Always tons of cool bands playing around the area. Ruins is a good one and also House of Blues, as well as Trees In Dallas. The Ridglea Theater in Fort Worth is also an awesome one to check out (Which BTW we play there on March 15th). Then some of my favorite food spots are Babe’s Chicken for sure, then Pearl Sushi, and then you cabt go wrong with Hutchin’s BBQ. Also spend a lot of time at The Star and Legacy west areas in Frisco
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We wanna give a huge shout out to Rosie Ruiz and her introverts FM organization that helps out independant artists like us get more exposure and find bigger opportunities.
