We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrelle Wallace and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Terrelle, how do you think about risk?
I am a huge advocate for strategic risk taking. I say strategic because I think its important to weigh out the the pros and cons if something doesn’t go as planned. When it came to me starting Wallace I can honestly say I would have from the beginning quit my full time job and put 100% of my time into making it better…if I wasn’t married. So instead of quitting my full time job I took a pay cut so that I’d be better able to manage my time and mental energy. I still took a risk by taking the pay cut and Wallace Wellness still managed to grow. Timing and planning is everything when it comes to taking risks. I will continue to take risks and I’m sure Wallace Wellness will continue to grow as I do so. Plan ahead and take the leap!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Wallace Wellness is more than a personal training business. Wallace Wellness is about instilling long term confidence and education into our clientele. Our clientele are not boggled down by unrealistic diets or crazy workout schedules that causes other areas of their life to suffer. The clientele of Wallace Wellness receive scientifically supported education from certified trainers, registered dieticians, physical therapists, mental health workers, and other professionals in the health and wellness field. Our clients do indeed meet their fitness goals, but they also finish with a long lasting base of knowledge, confidence, and independence.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of the most important things to do in San Antonio is to EAT! Some of my favorite food spots are La Panaderia, Embers, 54th street, Taco Palenque, Iron Cactus, and the Original Donut shop (don’t let the name fool you, the Breakfast Tacos are the BOMB!). San Antonio is also home to plenty of food truck parks. There are also many malls and shopping centers to visit such as the River Centre along the Riverwalk, The Rim, and North Star Mall. Of course while you’re here its super important to go to a Spurs game, Splashtown Water Park, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Night life is also huge down here with a variety of things to do ranging from late night bowling, live shows, beverage stops, and of course more eating!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost I want to give God the glory for giving me the opportunity to help others in such a manner! I’d also like to thank my wonderful wife Genesis Wallace. About a month before our wedding I had this crazy idea to move to San Antonio, TX immediately after we got married even though we knew nobody here. She’s my rock and I’m forever thankful for her support. As I type this she’s actually carrying our son who is due July of 2021! I’m in a line of work where my clientele tell me that I’m helping them improve their quality of life; however, they’re truly improving mine. I’m extremely thankful for them because they push me to be better constantly and they motivate me even when I don’t feel motivated. Lastly I’m thankful for my friends and family who’ve helped made Wallace Wellness what it is today!
