We had the good fortune of connecting with Tequilla Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tequilla, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand “She Go Hard” is truly GOING HARD. I went through a traumatic experience in my life and entertainment career, in the process, I lost myself. I became a shell of the person I was. I did not recognize myself when i looked in the mirror. When i realized I lost who I was, that motivated me to pick up the pieces, I lost my passion, I lost my outlet. I knew at that moment I had to Go Hard.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Before creating the brand She Go Hard I started out as an artist. As an independent artist, I did not have big label funding to market my music. When it came to financing my career, everything was done by me. Therefore sometimes I couldn’t afford to pay for the professional services I needed at times. I did not let this deter me, it actually motivated me. It motivated me to learn everything I needed to know about the industry and business. When I couldn’t afford studio time, I saved money to buy my own studio equipment, learned how to record and engineer. When I couldn’t afford to pay for flyers and a website I learned graphic design. When i couldn’t get radio interviews and radio spins I started my own station. Over time I learned so many skills, I didn’t know would set me up for the success I am experiencing today. Once I mastered many of my new skills I began helping friends and family not just in the music industry, I also helped those starting businesses with the knowledge I have acquired. She Go Hard has become one of the best outlets and resources for indie artists. One valuable lesson I have learned along the way always remain professional and don’t be afraid to invest in yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow

First i would book a room at the Canvas Hotel, the rooftop pool and view is beautiful, we would hang out at the pool to relax for a day. Next i would take them to visit TD’s BBQ for the best baked potatoe in the DFW, We would also visit Deep Ellum for a fun night on the town. Then a full spa day at Hiatus Spa & Retreat. Last but not least we would visit The Kimbell most of my friends love art.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I must pay homage to those who have helped me build the brand to the success we see today. I had the honor of 3 amazing ladies who have molded the brand along the way. Crystal Davis “Crystyle”, Sherrell Richardson “MzTrill” , and Stefani Davie ” Cutie” are my partners. These amazing ladies have helped build the brand on many levels to make our brand diverse and a one-stop-shop in helping individuals not just in music but in life!
