We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Sampey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The more knowledgeable you become in your field, the more flaws you will find within it. If you truly take pride in your work, it’s impossible to recognize these flaws as acceptable.

For me, it was this very marriage, between insight & obstacle, that created opportunity.
I was consistently burnt-out as an un-heard employee and realized:

‘The only way to implement my ideas, is to become the leader and blaze the trail.
If the path I create is clear and admirable, people will organically traverse it.’

What should our readers know about your business?
TRUE LINK is a Residential Preconstruction Firm specializing in Design & Contractor Risk Management. We remove homeowner’s risk by building the perfect team for their project-specific requirements & budget.

Currently, homeowners are forced to find, vet and choose a Contractor themselves.
They are expected to sign a contract before they truly know what it entails or how to negotiate it.
This often leads to ineffeciencs, undefined expectations, communication breakdowns, avoidable mistakes,
increased costs, extended timelines and overall, just a miserable renovation experience.

We’re proud to be the ONE Company who is providing homeowner’s a better way.
With overwhelming community support, we are actively reshaping the Industry!

It’s not all roses, though. We do get push-back from cranky Contractors who think we’re encroaching on their practices/profit but, to us, this is proof that we’re on the right track! Our main goal isn’t to appease greedy Contractors with high-profit margins, it’s to sort through the muck and ensure that our Clients are paired with the absolute best for their investment. That said, we do not charge Contractors a single penny for bringing them clients. Our only incentive is homeowner satisfaction; hard stop.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
To be completely honest, flat plains and concrete jungles simply don’t inspire me. Accordingly, if I were to take a friend anywhere in Texas, west is where we’d go.
No itinerary, just pure exploration. I envision a lot of turns down a lot of unknown roads.
Itentionally getting lost, but confident in our ability to make due and make the most.
Desert bonfires, deep conversations, stargazing and overland camping.
To sum it up: the wilder the river, the taller the mountain, the more of a chance you’d find us there.
