We had the good fortune of connecting with Tashayla Weathersby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tashayla, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from Monroe , Louisiana small country town where everyone is related literally the bottoms of the bottom , you might have heard about the town from The to series “Duck Dynasty “ which is in West Monroe right around the corner of where I was born . I come from a single mother of 4 girls background so one thing I have always seen from the women in my family is how hard they work & how resilient they are til this day. My aunt was a teacher of 40 years in the Louisiana school system I was happy enough to get to attend the school she worked at , this gave me free access to books , binders , pens and all the great school supply you can think of but for FREE ! This most definitely sparked my young entrepreneur before you knew it I was selling pencils & erasers for $.25 yes it’s just a quarter but for a 8 year old gal that was enough for me . Fast forward we move to Texas my 5th grade year summer time when my mom was at work I always had ways of getting up and getting a business plan whether it was washing cars for the day which me and my little sister have done numerous of times and actually made $60 one day I remember just telling my mom how happy I was for even making that happen .Most definitely come from humble beginnings aka nothing so I know how to do with what I got , this allowed me to use my resources and get things done regardless if I don’t have what I may think I need because all I need is inside of me .

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Each piece of art I have created has been a channel for my emotions to help me convey how I feel to the world because at times I simply do not know how to verbalize it . I am 21 years old and I experienced my very first domestic violence relationship after purely giving my love , you would think I am heartless but that isn’t me. The best advice I have for all creators is to never let anyone or thing dim your light or make you feel you are nothing without them because you are ENOUGH when you are simply YOU. My brand Isis Commodity is to resort in natural creations to help heal on the outside so you can resort to the same when it come to your inner healing .
I want the natural products I serve to give a person reinsurance that healing can be done through naturalism

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a Care free soul but also a business woman so there is a balance with me anyway I could hope on the DART & ride the TRE to downtown Dallas and walk the stripe enjoy the scenery maybe hop from places and finish the night with a open mic in Deep Ellum the nostalgic vibes this creates is unreal for me makes me feel like I’m in a scene of “ Love Jones” & I Live for it !

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I thank God first for putting all in place for me next I thank my daughter for keeping me focused & striving for the best for us ! Nevertheless my family & supporting friends . Last but not least myself for creating my first Self – Care Journal (Organize Your Dreams & Thoughts Journal: Personal Growth / Healing Journal ) that helps me allot when I am stuck or feel I have no one to talk / express to .
