Meet Tara Paulsen | Travel Curator and Yoga Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tara Paulsen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tara, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a kid, I always wanted to see the 7 wonders of the world. After I took my mom to Middle East for her 75 bday/ we went and saw Petra and it was amazing. I decided then to open a travel company taking people to see the 7 wonders. I have been teaching over for over 12 years in the metro plex and decided to make my trips more focus on wellness and cultural trips and switched gears to now going more than to the 7 wonders.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What makes Wonder to Wander Travel stand out is the heart behind it. This isn’t just about booking trips — it’s about creating intentional journeys that nurture transformation, connection, and restoration. Every retreat, every destination, every detail is curated with purpose.
What sets us apart is that we lead with soul. This isn’t cookie-cutter travel. We blend wellness, culture, and curated experiences with a deeply personal touch. I’ve walked these paths myself. I’ve been the traveler seeking clarity, healing, and new energy — and now I build those experiences for others.
Getting here hasn’t been easy. There have been setbacks: canceled retreats, low sign-ups, shifting markets — moments where I questioned whether to keep going. But each time, I’ve adapted, listened, and re-centered. I’ve learned that growth isn’t always linear. I’ve pivoted when needed, leaned on community, and kept showing up — even when it felt hard.
This business was born from personal transformation — and it continues to evolve with every challenge and every win. What keeps me going is knowing that the work we do has real impact.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend was visiting town, I would make sure they went to a yoga class at Pose Yoga- or take them to Studio 6 for a Pilates class. Depending on the weather, a walk at either Katy Trail or White Rock Lake. There would be a museums day checking out the DMA and the Nasher Culture Garden and Perot. If there was a dance recital through Titus one night, I would take them to that in the arts District. I would have dinner before hand at Tei An or at Nori sushi and spend some time having drinks in Deep Ellum. Maybe catch a show at Trees. For some shopping and strolling , take them to Knox area and lowest Greenville for drinks and cool gifts. If it was during the fall, a must have visit to the State fair of Texas, of course!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve been very blessed to have supportive family and friends helping me along the way. I’m also fortunate to have a wonderful following of dedicated yogi’s who follow me and travel on the trips with me.
