Meet Tammy Salas | Body Sculpting Specialist & Medical Assistant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tammy Salas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tammy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Definitely! I have always wanted to start my own business, but I never knew how or what to offer. The only thing I was certain about was that I wanted my business to be apart of the beauty industry. I knew I wanted to help people feel good about themselves. In my family we have plenty entrepreneurs. I’ve seen how fortunate they are in having their own business and how it’s allowed them a little more availability then an average 9-5 job. I guess you can say the idea of wanting to start my own business came from my influential family. If I’m being honest though, my thought process of launching my own business was all over the place. I had days where I was ready to put my self out there. I could already imagine myself making it and being successful. I was confident that I could do it on my own. But, I also had days where my anxiety would takeover. The fear of failure would constantly stop me from moving forward. I didn’t want to be a disappointment to my family or my friends. Thankfully, I have a great support team on my side. My parents have helped and supported me every step of the way. My friends and family continue to help me brainstorm ideas on what I can do in order to accomplish my goals. It’s the little things that the people I love do that constantly keep me motivated to grow. These people are the reason why I didn’t let my fears stop me from doing what I dreamed of.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Of course. My business is called “Truly Confident Skin”. My goal is for it to become an actual beauty studio where men and women can come to feel good about themselves. As of right now my small business only offers Body Sculpting, but with time my goal is to add other services. It’s exciting to know that right now my business is slowly growing. Once it takes off, its going to be everything I ever hoped for. You may be wondering though, what is Body Sculpting? well let me break it down for you. Body Sculpting targets and dissolves fat cells in the body without surgery. It allows you to shape and lose stubborn fat in the areas such as the upper arms, abdomen, hips, and thighs. When breaking down fat cells we are forcing your body’s lymphatic system to flush it away. Your lymphatic system is your body’s detoxification process. By giving it an extra jolt, the treatments are more likely to reduce long-term fat accumulation. Body Sculpting is a way for men and women to achieve their body goals. Right now there are a lot of people in the body sculpting industry. One thing that separates me from others is that I’m not in it for the money. I do this because I love helping people. I want to help men and women feel good about themselves. If I can help these people accomplish their body goals, I’ll do it. I want people to know that a lot of work has been put in to my business. I built her out of love for people and I thrive on the happiness from my clients. Nothing makes me happier then when a client is happy and satisfied.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting me, I would definitely have a whole itinerary ready. I would take my friend to Arlington for some delicious Korean BBQ at “Omi”. After we would grab some boba at “Onezo”, they are my go to favorite boba place. For a fun night out to enjoy some live music we would go to Toyota Music Factory. There is a lot of little restaurants and fun things to do. One thing is certain, fun things will definitely be accomplished during their visit here in DFW.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout is dedicated to the main reason behind my business. My loving aunt Teresa Lozano. Unfortunately, my aunt passed away in 2020. She was one of the many people whom I loved very deeply. She meant everything to me. Her smile, her laugh and most importantly her confidence is something I can never forget. One thing I admired about her is that her confidence was contagious. She always made me feel good about myself. She constantly lifted me up when I was down. I especially loved that I could always count on her when I needed her most. I wanted my business to be in memory of my aunt. Confidence was given to me by her and now I want to give confidence to others as well. If you noticed, my logo has a women with a flower in her hair. It looks nothing like me because it represents my aunt. She was a Florist, and had a special touch with flowers. My aunt knew how to put certain pieces together to create something beautiful. I believe with time I can create something beautiful too. This is my way of always having her with me even though she is gone. I know if she was here today, she would be proud of me and how far I’ve come.
