We had the good fortune of connecting with Sunnie Ward and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sunnie, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson in my career as a Web & Brand Designer has taught me that success is whatever I want it to be, and at my own pace. Growing a sustainable business is the main goal, and creating this career for myself has taught me that anything is possible. In the beginning stages of my career, I wish I had known that hustling was the quickest way to burn out. The hustle culture is so prevalent and working 24/7 is not the quickest way to achieve your version of success!

This very lesson is something I failed to realize early on, but I am now thankful and aware of it. My level of success is simple and relatable to me, and me only. I strive for sustainability in my business, a healthy work/life balance, and the ability to live comfortably on my terms.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Creatively Inspired has been the pedestal that allows my design work to be seen. I am most proud of the progress of my designs, the ability to grow my business from its foundation, and the amazing clients I have worked with. The shift, the knowledge, the many tutorials and so much more has helped me create better designs for my clients, myself, and for potential clients to see. Helping other small businesses build the brand they envision will always be the motivation to create.

As a kid, I dreamed of creating something with advanced technology and software, and as I became older it was only a second thought. Ironically, things come full circle and after entering the corporate world of IT, I began to ponder on whether or not I could make my dreams come true. Now, I realize it wasn’t a matter of if I could make it happen but when. From 2019 until now, there have been very rewarding moments, not easy, but worth it. Every experience has allowed me to learn something new.

Creatively Inspired is at the forefront of the designs, and the mission is to continue to carry out an amazing client experience. My clients won’t ever feel like ‘just another client’ because attention and care to your brand are extremely important. In order to truly craft a great design that resonates, you have to treat it as your own! The experience should be fun & stress-free!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being that I am originally from a small town (population: 500 – no, seriously), moving to Dallas was like an amusement park for me! Walmart is open 24 hours? Let’s go! I’ve been in Dallas for almost 3 years and my favorite place to take all of my family and friends is Sushi Time! Not only is it a mom & pop small business restaurant, but the sushi is to die for! I am a sushi connoisseur and I wear that badge with pride! On any given day though, you can find me discovering a new place to work remotely There is still so so much for me to see in this big city, but this city has already created such amazing opportunities for me and it’s a great hub for entrepreneurs!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Recognizing my success and where I am at this moment is thanks to my clients, my intimately small business team, my online community, and my family. The days that I have where I simply don’t know what I am doing, make me thankful for those of you reading this that have encouraged me to keep going. Thank you isn’t enough, but the support and encouragement will never go unnoticed.
