We had the good fortune of connecting with Summer Ritter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Summer, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It was really like a lightbulb went off in my head one day. I was working a 9-5 I hated & asked myself where I saw it going, & the answer was nowhere. I’ve always been one to say that you should always choose doing something you love over everything else, so I finally decided to take my own advice & take the leap.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My shop has a wide variety of items, some collected by me & others created by me. I’m extremely proud of how far this shop has come & how much it has grown in such a short amount of time. I believe our unique set up & going out to pop-up markets, has not only given us a strong & personal connection to our surrounding communities, but it definitely sets us apart from the rest. This journey hasn’t been the easiest, but the more you get used to it the easier it is to create a plan & get into a more efficient routine. The best way to learn, is with hands on experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As far as restaurants go, Ol’ South Pancake House with their great menu, friendly staff, & wonderful atmosphere is definitely a must have. For drinks, I would have to say Free Play takes the cake. With their amazingly unique set up, & cozy feel, it’s definitely worth a visit.
As a sightseer & photographer, things to do would include either the Fort Worth Water Gardens or the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, or both!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents who both also had their own businesses at one point in time are probably the biggest reason that I had the faith that I could do this successfully. My best friend, Tiffany Clements, was my number one motivator when finding my way through this line of work. We’ve bounced countless ideas off of each other & worked several markets side by side, both managing our growing crystal shops.
My significant other, Blake Moore, who shares the same passion as I do for crystals has been by my side for every step of the way. I’m so appreciative of all of the support he’s given me between rushing to markets at the crack of dawn, & staying up all night with me while I work on the website or marketing.
I definitely would not be where I am today without the people who have helped push me this far.
