Meet Stewart Cohen | Director/Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stewart Cohen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stewart, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
From the outside, my industry looks glamorous. It seems like we are always in exotic locations and in excellent hotels with beautiful models and fabulous amenities. That is a small part of the truth. In reality, ninety percent of my time is spent looking for great projects, bidding projects, negotiating and directing the production process.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a director / photographer at a production company based in the Ceders section of Dallas, TX. I am in a building that was one of the first loft conversions in the city and our studio takes up a good part of it. We work with a variety of ad agencies and Fortune 500 companies. We do most of our work in the U.S. but have had assignments on all seven continents.
What drives me, is the love of people. Whether it’s for a pharma client, hotel brand, or tech company, the unifying theme in my work is the people. I love working with these people and helping them tell their unique stories. It is a privilege to work with our clients, actors, and the real people behind these stories. Everyone is treated with the same level of respect, no matter their background. My team here at Stewart Cohen Pictures all love to do good work and have a good time.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Dallas is a great city if you love restaurants, shopping, or hiking. On a nice morning, have brunch off Knox/Henderson or go walk on the Katy Trail. If you really want a good run, go to White Rock Lake. Or stop for a cocktail at Lounge Here. If you want sushi, Shinsei is amazing. After dinner, you can pop next door to the Inwood Tavern. There is a mix of people heading there from dinner, to black-tie events. And don’t forget to visit Fort Worth, too. They have great museums you won’t want to miss.
It’s an amazing place to work and it’s easy to get around.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout to the people I have been lucky enough to be surrounded by in my life. I love surrounding myself with people from different walks of life and learning from them. I am continuously inspired.
