We had the good fortune of connecting with Star Stewart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Star, what’s your definition for success?
Success looks different for everyone. Although we were all created in one likeness, our cultures, dynamics and ethnicities make us all different.

There is no one way to justify what success is.

However being committed to your goals, remaining teachable, and always making space to grow will undeniably land you with an influx of success.

It is important to have a wide range of one’s own perceptions, invest in yourself, businesses and all your ventures.

What should our readers know about your business?
Star Stewart native of Memphis Tn with an extensive background in healthcare and corporate America. I have been blessed with countless opportunities that add great importance to my resume. I am an alumni of Bethel University with my B.S in Healthcare Administration, currently pursuing my Master’s in Human Resource Mgmt at Strayer University and with great joy I have recently been inducted into the Honors Society.

In 2020 during unprecedented times (i.e, Covid 19) like millions my employment was phased out. Although I was worried; God quickly reminded me of his promises and my gifts. I’ve always been creative and have over the years enjoyed enhancing events, parties and all things celebratory but never imagined how my love for my craft  would shift my life.

StarCreations was founded on faith without knowing how far it would go. My love for balloons and my attention to detail has landed me opportunities around the Mid-South and has expanded out of state in places like Georgia and Illinois.

I have serviced Memphis Shelby County Schools and seven divisions within the City of Memphis, FedEx Corporate Services, Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare, church organizations, Celebrity Artist NLE Choppa and Former NBA player of the Memphis Grizzles Zach Randolph with a host of private clients.

I am sought after for glossy clusters of balloons, my professionalism and my determination to give 110% every single time. I have to tell you all I love it here, I love what I do.

Entrepreneurship is not a walk in the park.

There are many days I want to walk away from it all if I’m being transparent. My daily reminder is my son Jackson Rhodes. My goal is not to just provide for him but to instill in him what it means to work hard for your dreams and aspirations.

I will tell anyone that i am yet thriving because of the Ultimate writer of Life (God) he has never left me!

So to anyone that desires to start a business, but unsure of where to start (FAITH IT) and keep going, you got this!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friends both reside in Memphis, most time when we are together it’s to celebrate.

I’m a woman that enjoys the simple things in life.

Brunch is always a must and greatly enjoyed at Salt Bistro on Mendenhall the music, food and atmosphere, cocktails and aesthetics are great! If I had to pick a fine dining experience I would recommend Porch and Parlor or Folks Folly.

I love Midtown and downtown there are so many hidden gems, some of the best food and top tier experiences.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m asked all the time who do I do this for. Very easily the response is always my son Jackson Rhodes, Imagine having an 8yr old as a BEST FRIEND!

My parents (Cornelius and Ruthie) laid out a foundation along with my grandparents (Lonnie and Alice) that I’m forever GRATEFUL for.

Their teachings and prayers are very much so the force in my daily push.
