We had the good fortune of connecting with Siobhan Linnane and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Siobhan, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
In order to live life to the fullest you have to get comfortable embarrassing yourself. The more I work through the shame that comes with getting out of my comfort zone, the easier it is to take up my space.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My music has developed a lot since I last dropped my EP ‘Demigod’. I’ve realized the most important aspect to a song is the feeling, it doesn’t have to be perfect or even particularly “good”.

I’m honestly not quite sure what makes me so different from other artists & maybe that’s what makes me so different. I am effortlessly unique. I have no shtick, I am just Siobhan.

I am most proud of the influences going into my next album. I spent so much time in quarantine discovering new artists, experiencing new things & I can’t wait to see how they influence the project as a whole.

I think I got where I am by doing what I want to do. I am hard headed & I don’t like doing things I don’t want to do. I feel like most people spend their entire lives doing things they do not want to do but it makes me wonder how can I end up where I want to be if I keep on doing things I don’t want to?

Getting to this point hasn’t been easy, it’s been very exhausting emotionally, physically, & mentally. I feel like I’ve spent the last year embarrassing myself over & over again so I can learn how to be open hearted & open minded. I’ve overcome the difficulties by simply being kinder to myself. I’ve even started apologizing to myself when my inner critic begins to make comments.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that people are usually too worried about their own issues & insecurities to worry about you. So if you want to dance in public, you should just dance.

I want the world to know that my strength lies in how soft my heart is, & the only thing that drives me to keep on creating is the opportunity to connect with others

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love this question! I would definitely take them to a brunch spot in Dallas, then Amorino Gelato for lunch (I think eating Gelato for lunch is absolutely appropriate), then we’d have to take a stroll through the Dallas Museum of Art & swing by the gift shop for some cool Knick knacks/coffee table books. I would also take them to the Kinokuniya book store & hit up the bakery next door !!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother who is a light in my life! & my manager TeeC who is always so patient & kind.
