Meet Sherri Jacob | Founder & Director of Alisa Joy Bridal Boutique

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sherri Jacob and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sherri, how does your business help the community?
Alisa Joy Bridal Boutique is a non-profit organization that sells wedding dresses that have been donated by “for-profit” boutiques from around the country at 50-80% off . We are by appointment only and we have an all volunteer bridal consultant staff. One hundred percent of the profits are donated to organizations that help victims of trafficking and exploitation; the organizations are Alive at Last, GloryB, and Refuge City.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We’re proud to have so many happy brides finding their perfect dress at Alisa Joy Bridal Boutique and also to be funding organizations on the front lines helping victims of trafficking. We feel like it’s a win-win; we’re helping brides find their perfect dress and at the same time we’re helping women who have been rescued from trafficking.
Setting up a new 501c3 took some effort along with finding the right space and location for the boutique and then waiting for construction to be completed took patience.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would likely check out the Kennedy Museum, have lunch at Beto & Son Mexican Restaurant in Trinity Groves, go shopping at Legacy West in Plano or Grandscape in The Colony, or enjoy a spa afternoon at WorldSprings, then head over to The Star in Frisco and have dinner at Dee Lincoln Prime or Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar depending on what they’re in the mood for, and then wrap up the evening listening to live music at Lava Cantina.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Alisa Evans, who passed away in 2020, was the Executive Director of Alive At Last and Tiffani Joy Price, founder of GloryB and survivor of human trafficking; Alisa Joy Bridal Boutique was named in their honor.
