Meet Sheri Michele | Business Development and Leadership Expert

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheri Michele and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sheri, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Not necessarily just my industry, but entrepreneurship as a whole. Support and self care are more important than anything else you can do for your business. A strong network of supporters, the people who you can vent to and bounce ideas off of, the ones you can go cry to without hearing, ” go get a “real” job”, is the best thing for any person building a strong business. It is not lonely at the top if you find these individuals at the bottom. And with self-care, I mean more than just spa days. I mean self awareness. I mean going to the gym, eating good, changing what you are watching and listening to. If you take care of you, you are putting yourself at an advantage because changes are your competition is not doing this.

What should our readers know about your business?
My company, Sudden Success, helps business owners get their business life together. What I absolutely love about my company is we are helping people understand that they are not supposed to be everything in their business. Failure is absolutely something that everyone needs to get used to and embrace because it is literally an everyday occurrence in business. You are going to fail at something, rather it be not showing up on time, missing a deadline, doing something wrong, tanking a whole business, blowing money. All of it is part of the process of building a successful business. Working out and having my network of other entrepreneurs are definitely the way that I overcome the hard days. The amount of, ” Imma just quit today” phone calls that have occurred and my friends have talked me off the ledge would be absolutely shocking to you. I am being fully transparent because this journey is so gloried and its hard. Its not called a grind for no reason. Lessons I’ve learned…be ok with everything not being perfect. I can not be the person I want to be without challenging the person that I am today and the journey is beautiful once you are on the other side of it. As I speak with my friends, we look back a year or 2 years ago and just be like, ” look what we did.” So celebrate yourself today, even the losses and be self aware to know what to do different tomorrow. As far as my brand is concerned, I just want the world to know about it lol. Awareness is the biggest mission.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ok, so my bestie and I are not tourists. So we would go make friends with the locals and have them tell us about the REAL gems of the area. We would probably go shopping, both of us are foodies so we would want to find the mom and pop shops that got the ” slap yo mama” food. We would catch a show that we were told was a must see by a local and then we would find some beach chairs and sit our exhaustive selves down by some water and listen to R&B while drinking either water or something a bit stronger. Anywhere that is warm and near water is the best place for me to be. And people are my jam so if you having a good time, I will have a good time because good food and good vibes are my favorite pastime. I am also a history buff so if there are any historical sites in the area, I would probably want to check them out.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Man, this is a big question! I think everyone who I ever come in contact has lead to this, in their own way. I am definitely one to take lessons from all the people that are in my life and without those lessons, I would not be the amazing woman that I am proud of everyday. Are there people who have contributed more, absolutely! I just feel that nobody ever recognize the little guys. So little contributors, this one is for you.
