We had the good fortune of connecting with Shereka Nicole, M.Ed. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shereka, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Provide a community of support and empowerment to Moms as I sometimes felt like I was loosing myself as an individual being both a married and single mom.

What should our readers know about your business?
As the CEO and founder of Premier Moms, I founded the organization based on the needs of other moms in my area, and my own personal experiences as a married and single mom raising two kids in elementary school.

I conducted more than a years’ worth of research (focus groups/interviews) to really understand what working moms and those in school desired.

Premier Moms was created by a mom for moms to have a safe community to learn and grow together.

No two days are alike from meetings, to things with my kids, to being a caregiver to family, to networking events etc., but the overall goal is to enjoy life, celebrate the Wins, and help as many other moms as possible.

The road definitely hasn’t been easy, I lost my mother/best friend to Cancer, and I’m striving every day to stay on top of my health and wellness for my children. At the end of the day as I lead groups, and coaching sessions – I always reminded everyone to put themselves first. If you are first in your life, you can handle caring and supporting others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow, ok let’s see – fun, interesting places in Gainesville, Florida.

1) Celebration Pointe – they have several different restaurants, shopping, and a nice wide open area for your kids to play.

2) Flying Biscuit for Breakfast or 43rd Street Deli – Amazing Food!

3) Splitz for Bowling with the family or Skate Station Fun Works has a great Go-Kart area.

4) Harn Museum is amazing as well as the Butterfly Rainforest at the Florida Museum of Natural History.

5) If you like Mexican food, you’re going to love the amazing dishes at El Dorado Mexican Restaurant.

6) Flip Factory – The family will have an endless amount of fun from jumping on the trampolines, arcade games, and food.
