We had the good fortune of connecting with Shavon & Brooke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shavon & Brooke, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We are people who know each other inside and out. childhood friends turned sorority sisters, we’re people committed to the progression of small businesses and the advancement of creative business owners who provide much needed services to their respective communities. Shavon, with a undergraduate degree in Human Services and a Dual Masters in Education, has a passion for logistics and organization while Brooke, with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Masters in Health Administration, is well versed in positive human connections and managing business operations. COVID 19 was a huge push to begin our business as we saw an influx in small business start ups and social media services. With that, we saw a need to offer customer service to companies that had great potential but might not have the resources to keep up with the demand of consumers. People often complain about customer service from small businesses who often are doing every aspect alone or with a tiny but mighty team. We provide email, phone, and social media correspondence as well as templates and content so the people behind the business can create and do the work knowing inquiries and communications are happening.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Solved is a business rooted in helping other businesses. We interact with your customers to provide information about your organization’s products and services, handle complaints, inquiries and more. We communicate with your customers by way of email, phone, and social media with a main focus to provide customer satisfaction. We then help the owner sustain a high consumer satisfaction by creating templates and content that they can use based on our analysis of customer interactions with the company. For example, we suggest monthly promotional deals based on insight reports of what customers are buying from your business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
West Philadelphia…home of so much history, diversity, and of course…cheesesteaks and water ice. What people do not know is that West Philly is home to some of the best Soul Food, Caribbean, Ethiopian, and delis. Want a quick bite? Head over to Brown Sugar Bakery or Star Fusion after you get settled. Need brunch before seeing the sights? Just take a drive to Baltimore Ave and pick any of the brunch spots you pass, like Amari’s, Aksum, or Booker’s to satisfy and hold you over! We recommend taking a walk through Clark Park to walk off some of that food before visiting the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts or New Africa Center based on your interests! Dinner and drinks? Well you have to check out The Wine Garden, Abyssinia, or Dock Street before grabbing some Ice Cave for dessert:) Before you go, you have to visit Hakim’s Bookstore and get a cheesesteak, we prefer Jim’s or Larry’s! Whatever you do here, know you will enjoy!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If we had to thank anyone or anything for shaping who we are as people, it would be the city of Philadelphia, namely West Philadelphia where we both grew up. We have, since children, been nurtured and encouraged by the superheroes here that might not always get the recognition they deserve yet contribute to the social capital. From mom and pop stores that kept us fed, to the hair stylists who taught us how to love her hair, to the extended neighborhood family that watched over us, we thank the city of Brotherly Love for the lessons it taught us.
