Meet Shante Graham | Founder of Serenity Mentoring

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shante Graham and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shante, what role has risk played in your life or career?
As a woman whose continuing to evolve in the better version of herself day by day taking risk plays a huge part in my life. Honestly, once I realized that I have my own sparkle of talents that God have bless me with. Instead of just sitting on my sparkle of talents I was eager to start the first step of turning my dreams into a reality. With that in mind, I begin to network with likeminded people who taught me things that assist me achieving my goals. For example, I met someone that taught me how important it is to take those risks by looking them in the eye with a wink and tackle them head on. During one of our many business meetings she introduce me to the word “Imposter Syndrome”. After the meeting I quickly research the word realized that it meant the feeling of discomfort, second-guessing, and mild anxiety. Furthermore, I decided to just do it! Yes, like Nike. Why not? If I failed at least I made an attempt in my life and career to go after what I want. I’ve grown and continue to learn the beauty of life is all about taking risks. I had to look myself in the mirror and say “Shante you’re not going to allow imposter syndrome take you down you got this!” Although, risks may appear to be challenging but hey it’s apart of life. Speaking from experience you have to be willing to grow, glow, and ready for change. You too can make your dreams your reality!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m proud to say that in my full time profession in Auto insurance claims. I encounter people that are face with an unexpected loss which could be a difficult task at times to assist. No matter how hard the conversation get between myself and the customer, I always put myself in their shoes, lead each conversation with compassion and empathy. I’m most proud of the resilience that I’ve shown with the high volume of claims not allowing my current situation to change my mindset of letting the first impression be the best impression with each customer I interact with. Over time, I received numerous of accolades for my customer service and eagerness to focus on our customers. My career correlate with my passion and my purpose in life which aligns with my mentoring program. Although, I’m currently helping adults, I personally enjoy making an impact in our youth life to ensure they will have a bright future.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
