Meet Shanesha Scott | Boutique Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shanesha Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shanesha, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always been a right-brain person filled with creativity. As a child, I enjoyed writing stories and drawing cartoons. I was always in my own world and had an active imagination. This led me to write my first book in 2021, which not only fulfilled a childhood dream but also opened doors to new creative opportunities in my career.

Prior to writing my book, I found my calling in makeup artistry. This was not just about creativity and artistry, but also about glamming up beautiful women and often hearing their testimony. As a makeup artist each encounter with a client told a story. It was always a privilege to be a part of their journey.

I also had the opportunity to fulfill my dream of modeling becoming a plus-size model. Modeling allowed me to explore different facets of beauty and self-expression. I got to meet different designers, models, and makeup artist and learned how to rip the runway! It was euphoric going on casting calls, getting chosen to be in fashion shows, and ultimately strutting my stuff down the runway. I am definitely grateful for each opportunity that I was given. It allowed me to embody various characters and styles, pushing the boundaries of my creativity. It also boosted my self-confidence.

My journey took a new turn when I opened my women’s clothing boutique, Fad Fashions, in 2024. This was not just a business venture, but a natural progression of my artistic journey. Although this is a new venture, it is a space where I can connect with others who share a love for fashion and women’s empowerment.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have always had a creative mind. As a child, I found joy in drawing, writing stories, and playing dress-up. These early experiences shaped me into the creative I am today. I’ve had the pleasure to pursue makeup artistry, modeling, becoming an author, and now, a women’s clothing boutique owner! I’ve literally been able to mark off every check box on my vision board. I’ve even dabbled in some acting and hosted my own radio show years ago. This unique blend of experiences sets me apart. I have a fresh and distinctive perspective on women and fashion. Fad Fashions, is one of my proudest ventures because it is a testament to women’s empowerment through clothes. Empowering women to express themselves through stylish and fashion-forward clothing makes my heart smile. Every woman deserves to feel and look fabulous and confident in the clothes that they wear. I’m thrilled about the future. My goal is to create collections that inspire confidence and celebrate the unique beauty in every woman.
Getting to where I am today is due to my passion and hard work. I started my career in the beauty industry as a makeup artist and model, which taught me a lot about aesthetics, trends, and what makes a person feel beautiful. I have wanted to be a clothing boutique owner since about 2018 but could not do so because of financial reasons.  Thankfully, the opportunity presented itself this year, and Fad Fashions was born! Overcoming these challenges really required faith. God presented this opportunity to me when I wasn’t expecting it, which goes to show that all you have to do is have faith as small as a mustard seed and God will do the rest. Never give up on your dreams and aspirations. God will make a way.  
Although being a boutique owner is new to me, I am learning things daily, and my experiences as a makeup artist and model help guide me in many ways. Along the way, I’ve learned the importance of authenticity and staying true to my vision. I’ve discovered that community and collaboration are vital in this industry. Historically, connecting with other creatives has enriched my journey. I look forward to collaborating with influencers in the future with Fad Fashions.
What I want the world to know about Fad Fashions is that it’s more than just a clothing boutique; it’s a celebration of individuality and expression in all women of all sizes and income ranges. Fad Fashions resonates with women from all walks of life making them feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. My story as a makeup artist and former model adds depth to my brand. I want to inspire women to embrace their uniqueness while expressing themselves through fashion.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Now the funny part about this question is I am a introvert and rarely go places, but luckily over the years I’ve had to attend events in the industry and also my husband gets me out of the house to explore. Here’s what a fun-filled week-long itinerary for my best friend’s visit to Dallas, TX would look like.
Depending on the season, we would head to AT&T Stadium to catch a Cowboys football game. It’s not just a game; it’s an experience. I’ve been to one before, and it was an experience for sure- even though I’m not an avid sports fan. We would then head to a Rangers game a few blocks up the street from the Cowboys stadium. I would take her to Crescent City Daiquiri for some delicious New Orleans-inspired dishes and some refreshing daiquiris for lunch. Then, at night, we would head to “the big ball in the sky,” which is the Reunion Tower. The view from there is breathtaking, especially at night. I had the opportunity to go there several years ago and loved the experience.
Regarding nightlife, Dallas has a lot to offer. I am more of a lounge girl, so we head to The Icon Restaurant & Lounge, which has a chill vibe. I also really enjoy Heroes Lounge, which has great live bands and Jamaican food, and the House of Blues. Each place offers a unique experience.
We would also visit the Dallas Zoo, Six Flags, and the State Fair if it is in town. That about sums up our week long excursion- and of course we would be wearing our Fad Fashions outfits! Visit www.fadfashions.co to check out all the fashionable and trendy clothes!

My husband, A.D. Scott who is also a creative. He is an actor, director, singer and songwriter. I appreciate his grind and thankful how he is always supportive of me and my dreams.
