We had the good fortune of connecting with Shambrie Prince and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shambrie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was LEGACY. Building a legacy for my children. Something to call my own, something I worked hard for and loved doing. I’ve always dreamed of being my own boss and having financial freedom for my family. What better way to do it than to own my own business and doing something I love and am passionate about.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Currently I work a full time job as a Product Support Specialist as well as pursuing my makeup artistry. Is it easy? No. Will it be worth it? Yes. My children see me working hard everyday to provide a life for them. They see mommy having fun and happy with what I do. Everyday is a new adventure. I’m proud to be able to do it, I’m proud to show my daughter that you can do anything you put your mind too. To never let anything get in the way of pursuing your dreams.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When she arrives, I would take her to one of my favorite brunch spots, Honey Berry located in Dallas. I’m big on relaxation so I would definitely have an appointment scheduled to go and get facials. One night we would go to Kitchen and Kocktails for dinner. The next day we would do spa castle and just relax and unwind, that night we would do reverse happy hour at Kona Grill. The next day we would do brunch at LoLo’s Chicken and Waffles for some of the best food. We would go for drinks at Gloria’s that night. Another day we would do Sundown at the Grenada for some fun music and food then retreat by the pool of her hotel for the rest of the night. Lastly we would do brunch at Blue Mesa and maybe go to make candles or lipsticks before she leaves. I would end with dinner at Morton’s for one of the best steak and lobster dinners I’ve ever had.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First I want to shout out to my family, who constantly push and support me everyday, most of all my sister Victoria. She has been my number 1 fan, constant supporter and my continuous model since the very beginning. I owe a lot to her for being my muse on countless occasions and she has been there when I needed her most.
Secondly, I have to shout out to one of my closest friends, Tempest. She has pushed me to do my passion since the very beginning of my journey almost 10 years ago. Throughout the years when I didn’t believe in myself, she believed in me and pushed me to perfect what I loved to do the most.
