We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaivalini Sinha and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shaivalini, what role has risk played in your life or career?

A beautiful quote “You must take your chance”- William Shakespeare
So I am taking mine.
I am looking at the positive side , you call it risk I call it CHANCE!!
Everybody gets a chance in life to do things, they desire or they love.
It can come early or late, but it definitely comes . It is all about recognizing it and being ready to take it.
I have given myself a chance to pursue my dream, and trying something new .
I left my full time job , a stable fixed pay ,to build my dream. It is a lot of hard work, full of challenges, and sometimes not even stable , but at the end of the day it just leaves me with joy, pleasure and satisfaction,
the pleasure of doing what I love and the pleasure of doing something of my own.
When you are working on something you love you never feel at work, and your work makes room for everything.
So I am taking this chance to build my journey as an artist and I dream of seeing my creations in every home bringing happiness and color to their lives.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love art and colors make me happy, so my creations are very colorful and vibrant as I want everyone to feel the same happiness that colors bring to me.

Art is always been very close to my heart it is my hobby and my childhood passion. Creating new things , making art for my home, gifting art work to special people in my life always brought me complete bliss.

I came up with the idea of selling my wooden decor ,while working on a small wooden trinket -my very first box!!
I got my first orders from my friends and that inspired me to bring Sinhascreations to the world, as creativity has no limits….

And then I started my instagram page and my website, sinhascreations.com and from there my journey began!
I paint wooden tissue holders, coasters, tray, jewelry box, trinkets of all shapes and size, wooden letters and more.

No journey is easy , the key to every thing is hard work, determination and not giving up.

I am a newbie and I have a long way to go , lots of things to learn and explore.
The process is slow , but I am having a great time learning and growing with my small business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love nature , gardening, long walks, so I never miss on taking my friends to Dallas arboretum, this place never fails to amaze me with its beauty. Dallas known for it’s crazy weather , Arboretum always has something to entertain you in sync with the weather , the infinity lake, the art structures for art lovers and a the beautiful trail for walking. There’s lovely tulip garden in spring, a great fall festival with all kinds of pumpkins , a beautiful 12 days of Christmas set up, so many things to see and do.
A very scenic and a great place for lovely photoshoot.
Also I am a foodie and love to eat, Dallas has all kinds of restaurant I love Greek food and Platia Greek Kouzina has great falafal, hummus, original Frappe , yummy chocolate cake- my favourite . The best part about this restaurant is they are following their age old recipes and maintaining the charm.
If you are a coffee lover try Duino in Mckinney, cozy and comfortable set up where you can sip and work or a great place to chit chat with your friends.
And don’t miss going to Frogg Cafe in Allen for their tasty crepes and fresh beverages.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh yes!! There are a lot of people who play a big role in my journey. It is a blessing to have love, support, patience and encouragement from your near and dear ones.
My husband and my daughter always encourage and keep me going, whether I have sales or no sales.
They are the biggest supporter and owes a big shoutout!!
My parents and family in India, there best wishes and encouraging words even in the smallest accomplishment I make ,goes a long way in helping me reach where I am today.
I have a great set of friends who supported me and encouraged me to start this journey. They believed in me and in my startup. They always bring a spark of joy to my work by loving my creations, gifting them to their friends and family on different occasions and helping me promote my small business.
Thank you all !!
