We had the good fortune of connecting with Scott Ramos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scott, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Scott: “Now if you know what you’re worth, Then go out and get what you’re worth!” -Sylvester Stallone

“I’d have to go with this quote. It defines a job from an opportunity. A job determines your worth based on their assessment. With an opportunity (such as owning your own business), you determine your own worth based upon your own efforts.”

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Ritello Distribution is the head office for Ritello USA. We are very proud to hold 16 title wins internationally now for sales worldwide. We are also proud of the fact that we sell a certified medical device that is now imported in over 55 countries. HSA and FSA now covers costs of our equipment. We are definitely most excited about the growth we have achieved in the United States! Even through Covid, we have doubled our size in the last 12 months!

How did you get to where you are today business-wise?

“I’d have to go with just simply not listening to any negative person around me.” -Keri “Ever since the beginning, people have been telling me it wouldn’t work. It is actually funny because when I got my first store front, those same people were asking me if I was hiring. It was never easy. I worked long hours day after day. I sometimes still do. I know that if I want things that other people don’t have, I must work harder than other people are willing to work.”

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?

Scott: “stealing another phrase from Rocky: ‘No one will hit you harder than life itself. It doesn’t matter how hard you hit back. It’s about how much you can take, and keep fighting, how much you can suffer and keep moving forward. That’s how you win.’ ”
Keri: “I’d have to agree on that one.”

We believe that family owned businesses and small businesses can still thrive today! We are always happy to give anybody an opportunity here. We know your past does not determine your future. Where you came from does not determine where you are headed. You can have anything if you want it bad enough. You have to make your own story.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow! Dallas has so many interesting things, I wouldn’t even know where to start. I guess it would depend on their interests, as DFW pretty much covers it all. We have a couple of zoos and museums to check out if there are children involved. Obviously Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor are big ones! I personally think the Arboretum is a beautiful place to grab lunch with the girls. Even if it’s not football season, the Cowboy statium can be toured, and hello! Our all brand new Texas Live! My thing is roof-top bars, so walking up and down Greenville or down town is a must. You also have to see Dallas at night! You never know what color the sky is going to be lighting up that night. There are also rodeos and stock grounds in DFW that are really popular. I don’t think you would be able to see everything in just one week.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
SEE YOU AT THE TOP – Zig Ziglar

“Zig Ziglar was always my life mentor growing up in this business.” -Scott
